Luke Skywalker and the ragtag band of rebels fighting against the Galactic Empire are fresh off their biggest victory yet—the destruction of the massive battle station known as the Death Star. But the Empire's not toppled yet! Join Luke along with Princess Leia, smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca, droids C-3PO and R2-D2 and the rest of the Rebel Alliance as they strike out for freedom against the evil forces of Darth Vader and his master, the Emperor. Written by Jason Aaron (Original Sin, Thor: God of Thunder) and with art by John Cassaday (Astonishing X-Men, Uncanny Avengers), this is the Star Wars saga as only Marvel Comics could make it!

Is R2 pissing on that guy's shoes? Or is it droid vomit? Way too prequelsy.

John Cassaday used to be so much better. This isn't terrible, but compared to Planetary and Astonishing X-Men it just doesn't hold up. I'm guessing Marvel's pressuring him to stay on schedule, but you just can't rush art. You shouldn't hire a star and then handicap him.

That said, I still have high hopes for these books.

Y'know Star Wars arguably kept Marvel from going bankrupt in the late '70s? The company was in serious trouble when they got the Star Wars license (For free! Nobody thought it would be such a huge hit.) and the comics adaptation sold ridiculously huge numbers. It was best way to relive the movie once it left theaters.

If only the Force could've rescued Marvel again in the '90s...

Ehhh. I'd feel safer wearing a plastic trash bag than Stormtrooper armor.

I'm betting Episode VII shows us the good side of Stormtrooper armor.
