The Human Rocket returns! You’ve followed him through the history making (and changing!) AvX and now the mystery of the all-new Nova are revealed in this breathtaking new ongoing by the best-selling, award winning team of Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness (RED HULK, Avengers X-Sanction). Sam Alexander is a kid bound by the gravity of a small town and a father whose ridiculous, drunken fairy tales about a “Nova Corps” were just another heavy burden in a life full of them. But luckily for Sam Alexander...soon gravity won’t even matter. And those troubles? It’s like they’re a billion miles away.

@toco89
Its Gamora and Rocket Racoon from the Guardians of the Galaxy, that team has heavy ties with the Nova Corps. Rocket ain't nobody's damn sidekick

I know a lot of people have hated on the anime-esque style of the artwork here, but I have to say that I really like it. It reminds me of when I first started reading western comics with Runaways, before that I only read manga and so Runaways drew me in... and then I got hooked into the Marvel Universe. I am hoping this book may be able to do the same for others and help them discover the MU.

So judging by the first picture, Nova is 12 years old.

Ed McGuinness's over the top style is almost enough to forget about Loeb. I eat the exaggerated muscle structure and in your face action up! Would like rich as Nova though.

C'mon, Loeb is a decent writer guys, and McGuiness' art is great imo.

I love McGuiness' art but here it doesn't work so well when an adult character looks like a pubescent boy.

Yes, Loeb brought us great stories like The Long Halloween. He was once a great writer. This also the guy that created the Red Hulk and wrote Ultimatum, which some people said is what ruined the Ultimate Universe. So yea, until I see reviews and comments from people saying that this is a great book, I'm not getting it.

I hope they explain how all the dead Guardians are alive.....and how Starlord made it back but not Richard Rider.

Seriously, the GotG were in like 3 or 4 issues of Avengers Assemble with no explanation as to how they're alive.

Well at least Marvel kept everything the same except the costume and the person who is Nova!

Marvel Now? or Marvel NO!!

I think most people are just sore about his total mishandling, and bastardization of Marvel animation. He cancelled, and replaced the awesome Avengers: EMH, and force fed us the slightly better than complete shit Ultimate Spider-Man cartoon. Can't say I blame em. Ed's art is always fantastic though!!

Actually guys it looks like the last four pages show Richard. The Nova in those shots has some scruffle on his chin and then we see the man talking to his daughter and Sam walking into the room at the end. I think they're connecting Richard to Sam.

Not sure if I should get this or not, coming from the same guy who did Ultimate Spider-Man. Well....Ultimate Spider-Man wasn't really bad at all. I'll pick this up!

UniBeam11, not every young super-hero is a rip-off of Spider-Man in the Marvel Universe. Sometimes they do it to connect to younger readers so it can catch their attention. Even though, Marvel NOW! was made to get new readers in the Marvel Universe after the success of The Avengers and The Avengers: EMH. Nova is also in Ultimate Spider-Man. Now Marvel was very smart by doing that because Nova is a fan-favorite in the new TV series and many youngsters would want to read a comic book about him. You see what I mean?

Ehhh... Richard Rider. Not this new kid. Still if they make him come back I wouldn't mind this new kid. I'd just like Richard to still be a Nova.

This whole book looks stupid.

I really wish Jeph Loeb would stop stuffing his dead son into all his comics.

They bring back Quill. They bring back Thanos. But they won't bring back Rider?!! I'mma groan and moan like the rest of you, but I'm still gonna read this book to see if they can make this kid into a better character. Cuz let's face it, Ultimate Spider-Man does not have his character build off to a great start.
