Peggy Carter was never French, right? I thought she was British and just joined the French resistance.

Peggy makes bloomers sexy.

The original comics Peggy Carter was Sharon's older sister in the '60s, then aunt, then great-aunt. (Sliding Marvel timeline...) She was a member of the French resistance but Peggy and Sharon were both American. Some freedom-loving Yanks volunteered to fight in the war in Europe a few years before the U.S. officially joined in. (The American pilots in Michael Bay's Pearl Harbor movie for example.)

Yeah, Peggy is American in the comics. She's been a member of the British and French forces, but she's from Virginia originally.
