COMICS: TMNT #22 - #26 "Cityfall" Covers

Series editor Bobby Curnow recently spoke to CBR about what we can expect from this arc.

"Basically, this is the Turtles at their very worst. Things are never going to be as bad for them as they're about to be right now, and I think that's where the best stories are told. There will be no out for our heroes. Something we've been trying to do is to never have the villains lose. We want to keep pushing them forward and forward and getting them closer to their goals. That builds a lot of dramatic tension. And by the end of this, they Turtles may get back together or not, but one thing that's for sure is that Shredder is going to be top dog in New York City. I don't think I'm spoiling anything in saying that, and it's going to be really interesting to see how he gets there. This is essentially the halfway point of the bigger story we're telling. There isn't a more exciting time to read the book. Everything's been keying up to this moment. We've set up all our plot points, and now we're going to run with it and do something really special."

@monkeyballs IDW's TMNT is fantastic month after month! You should pick up the one that comes out on May 29th, it is starting a new arc where Shredder is trying to take over New York and Leo joins him!

CloydeSyfox@ I remember that. That was just before the cartoon took off.
monkeyballs@ Slash was never in a movie. I believe yo're thinking of Tokka, who was also a mutant snapping turtle. And I don't think he was ever in the original comics, either, but he was in the Archie series, which more more in lin with the cartoon than anything else.
This IDW comic is bloody awesoem. But this City Fall story is way too early. They shoulda extended the Krang War storyline by 4 issues.

As a long time turtles fan I just recently reading this reboot, and...I love it. It has a new cool origin story, and some surprising appearances from old characters. To answer the question the black bandanna turtle is Leonardo after he decides to join Shredder, I thought it was Slash at first.
