A couple of weeks ago we reported that Animal Man's Jeff Lemire would take over from Peter Milligan as writer on Justice League Dark. Lemire teased big changes to the team with new characters and a classic JL villain re-imagined. Well now we know one of those members will be a new look Black Orchid, and the villain, at least according to the synopsis, will be Felix Faust. Also featured in the cover art is I, Vampire's Andrew Bennett, though it is unclear if he will be a regular team member for now..

• New series writer JEFF LEMIRE introduces a new team roster and a new mission!
• Featuring JOHN CONSTANTINE, ZATANNA, DEADMAN, BLACK ORCHID and more!
• Constantine and the team must steal a map to the source of all magic out of the clutches of FELIX FAUST!
• The first of a four-part story that will have lasting implications for the entire DC Universe.

Three different characters have held the mantle of Black Orchid in the DCU, the first of which was a super-heroine who debuted in the '70s. But by far the best known incarnation is Susan Linden who's re-imagining as human-plant hybrid with ties to "The Green" by Neil Gaimen and Dave McKean in 1988 paved the way for the Vertigo imprint. This marks the first time we have seen the character in some time, aside from a brief appearance in "Flashpoint" in which that Black Orchid was revealed to be an impostor.

Gaimen's run was one of the first adult orientated comics I read along with Sandman. Hopefully this new version is that character.

JUSTICE LEAGUE DARK????? Really????? I'm glad they're devoting some attention to the Horror/Occult characters of the DC Universe, but that was the best name they could come up with? Why not Justice League Emo, or Justice League Edgy while they're at it.
