Last year,
DC Comics celebrated the anniversary of
The New 52 with
Zero Month, which featured origin stories (or #0 issues) for the heroes of The New 52 relaunch. Thanks to the
Collected Editions blog, there's further evidence of an earlier rumor concerning DC's second anniversary plans. This September, we'll see a number of prominent
DC Comic villains swap places with the heroes for all new #1 issues. For example, instead of reading
Batman #24 you'll be reading
Bane #1 or
Riddler #1;
Scott Snyder has previously teased big plans for the clue-oriented Batman rogue in the fourth quarter of 2013. See the blurb from Collected Editions below which looks beyond September to when the villain #1 issues will be collected into a special, hardcover omnibus.
In September 2013, evil took over, as every title in the DC Universe published special new #1s featuring the villains of the DC Universe, collected here in a massive hardcover edition.
A giant-size, hardcover omnibus collection of the special “villains issues” published line-wide in September 2013, spotlighting the greatest villains of the DCU.
As this is all but confirmed at this point, expect DC to jump out ahead of this and make some sort of official announcement. Which villain(s) do you think should be featured?
