Following the debut of a first look at The Phantom, Newsarama has complied the other three covers for the new series' which are set to be released this September as a part of DC's third wave. We already knew that Scott Snyder would be handling writing duties on The Talon, but it has now been revealed that he will be joined by James Tynion IV, with art from Guillem March. The series will follow Calvin Rose, the only Talon who escaped from the Court of Owls as he goes on the run from the secret group who recently revealed their presence in Batman. Sword of Sorcery will actually be an anthology book (in a similar style to All-Star Western) which will feature the return of Amethyst. This will make up the main part of the book, written by Christy Marx with art by Aaron Lopresti, while a back up tale featuring Beowulf and Grendel will be written by Tony Bedard with art by Jesus Saiz. Finally, Team Seven has been confirmed as being set in the early days of the DC Universe and features a team which is formed after the emergence of Superman in order to take down superheroes if it becomes necessary. It will be written by Justin Jordan with art by Jesus Merino. Be sure to click on the link below for an interview with Dan DiDio and Jim Lee.

uh...these look stupid. Isn't that Grifter from some Wildcats cartoon show like 8 years ago that failed?

Pathogen@ No, it's Grifter from the Wildcats comic book that was really, really popular in the '90s, from some artist called Jim Lee that they based a failed cartoon on.

Team 7 looks horrible and Talon looks WORSE. What happened, were the talon costumes from the Batman books TOO COOL for the character? What, they NEEDED to have another hawkman or night owl? WHAT??? And don't even get me started on that G.I. JOE rip-off, and not the cool ones, the shitty ones from the movie with the "performance enhancing suits". Gawd... *sigh*

Makes me wonder what's getting canceled.. Perhaps the Green Lantern books will come to an explosive ending and we'll end up with the one new Green Lantern?

Team 7.... oh how the mighty have fallen. Team 7 was a collection of 3 mini series in Images Wild Storm imprint that followed a Spec Ops unit that was exposed to gen factor (basically a mutagen). Some when crazy others went rogue and others worked for the gov. The original team did consist of Grifter from Wildcats (before wildcats), Deathblow, Backlash (of Stormwath/Wildcats/Wildcore) Lynch (of Gen 13/other IO prints) and a few others. Most of the members of Team 7 were the considered Gen 12s and the parents to the members of Lynchs Gen 13... It was a decent series that gave a lot of back story to the universe and to Gen 13... here though... the cover art already looks like crap and the weapons and armor....ug... original Team 7 ran with standard US weapons ... and Grifter did not sport the mask till WildCats, though he wore a single black eye flash as all of the members did....but I digress....

Christy Marx, the woman who gave us Jem & The Holograms. For that alone, I will always love her.
