COMICS: Newest Member Of The JUSTICE LEAGUE UNITED Revealed

Jeff Lemire teased that he'd be introducing a new female hero for his new Justice League incarnation last year, and now we have our first look at her. We don't actually have a name yet, but she's a Native American woman based on real-life activist Shannen Koostachin.

Last year Jeff Lemire announced that he had created a new character for his new Justice League United series - a teenage Cree girl from James Bay based, in part, on late activist Shannen Koostachin. This character was absent from the first Justice League United #1 cover by Gene Ha, but here she is on the new version of that cover which was taken from a Previews Magazine. Thanks to DC Women Kicking Ass for the spot.

A bit of diversity is always welcome..but a name would be nice! Anyway, whatever we'll end up callng her, she'll be joining the likes of Martian Manhunter, Adam Strange, Stargirl, Supergirl, Green Arrow and Animal Man (with more TBA) in the new series which will replace Justice League of America after it finishes up in April.
