COMICS: Power Girl WILL Be A Part Of The Relaunched DC Universe In Mister Terrific!

Talking to Newsarama, writer Eric Wallace has confirmed that Karen Starr (the alter ego of Power Girl) will appear in his upcoming Mister Terrific series. Here's what he said about the former Justice Society members role in the comic, which is set to go on sale next week. For much, much more from the writer, be sure to click on the link below to head on over to the site where you can read the interview in full.

"The biggest element of Mister Terrific that I couldn’t talk about before involves Karen Starr. Her appearance in the series was supposed to be a surprise. Readers were supposed to open up our first issue in September and go, 'Whoa! Karen Starr? What’s she doing here?!' So you can imagine my shock when a fan told me he already knew about her presence in the book during a DC panel at SDCC. I was so stunned that I asked the fan, 'Uh, how did you know about that?!' Apparently, somehow word had gotten out the previous day. Oh, well. That’s Comic Con! But you know, it’s probably for the best. Keeping that secret was really driving me up the wall.

Of course now the question is, what will Karen’s involvement be in the book? Sorry, no spoilers here. Beyond confirming her presence as an integral part of Michael’s journey, I can only say that you’ll have to wait for issue #1 to find out how it all begins.

Mister Terrific is the only JSA member getting his own title in the relaunch, while the team will receive their own title by James Robinson and Nicola Scott set in an alternate reality, Earth-2. What do you guys think about Power Girl's place in the DCnU? Are you disappointed that she doesn't have her own series? Be sure to share your thoughts in the usual place!

So... Mr Terrific gets his own title but Powergirl doesn't? Um... [frick] you? Cause seriously, that would be like Marvel having Ms. Marvel just be a small part of Falcon's own series and nothing else. [frick] YOU!

@Shaman Mr Terrific has more potential than the Falcon, and Ms Marvel is much more than Powergirl.

JohnTom88- I'm sure a lot of people share your opinion, just like i'm sure many people share mine. To each's own. There was clearly room for both titles, especially since they have like 20 [frick]ing bat titles out per month. I'm not saying Mr Terrific or Falcon don't deserve their own titles, i'm saying they don't deserve them MORE than Ms Marvel or Powergirl.

i said a few days ago mr.terrific will be cancelled within a year.

i may have to take back that statement,it might not now because of........

-mrs.terrific i mean powergirl is in it.

or they could cancel mr.terrific & replace it with powergirl & her terrific boobs.

These two belong with the Justice Society. Power Girl doesn't need to share a team with Wonder Woman and Superman, and honestly, Mr. Terrific would just be overshadowed in the League.

Hopefully this book will be the first steps towards the new JSA.

Seeing as the new JSA title will be set in Earth-2, does that mean Power Girl is back to being the granddaughter of Arion? Or does she still remember her original history due to Infinite Crisis?

Altrus233@ Good Question. If I had to choose I'd rather her still remember pre-crisis Earth 2 than have big boobs. Don't get me wrong those boobs are classic. I'm hoping this is the real Power Girl and not the post-52 Earth 2 Power Girl.

Apparently, what I heard was That DC is trying to stay away from confusing their fans with the multi-verse and "Karen Starr" being Supergirl of another multi-verse.

Karen Starr might become Powergirl (in the Relaunch), but she probably wont have any relations to the Kent family, as in she wont be Supergirl of another realm or multi-verse. That's what I'm thinking is gonna happen here, because of Flashpoint and all that non-sense.

To me this just isnt ...Powergirl. IT's a recreation of the character? Karen Starr will be Karen Starr with Powers. lol

I guess Superman can hit that now since She's not his cousin anymore? lol
