Cool, Nightwing is one of my favorite heroes, the series has been pretty good except for all the filler issues which there have been alot of unfortunately.

And the art is really great too. Definitely picking this up.

Was Dick ever Batman in the New 52? I am not sure if they mentioned it at all or it's fact considering they said that much of Batman's storyline hadn't changed.

wow the third page last slide, the dialog was taken right out of the animated series episode "Robin's Reckoning"

The whole origin in general is just like the animated series episode. Minus the bracelets and the whole "grounded" part.

Nightwing should get his own tv series

At least it's not like All Star Batman and Robin where Batman is a murdering, kidnapping, sexist psychopath, who forces Dick to eat live rats and claims his war on crime is a "holy war."

Where's the part about him realizing that Bruce is Batman based on his smile?

@THEDARKKNIGHT1939, It's an oversimplification, but bottom line, it was poorly explained and kind of dumb. I'm really not looking to get into a TDKR argument. The comment was a joke. A joke with bitterness and disdain behind it, but a joke nonetheless.

@ Sandman3306- In the first issue of Nightwing after the reboot he mentioned he was Batman for a year in the first couple of pages.

Definitely looking forward to this issue really bad and Higgins is doing a great job. Cant wait for issue 13 for him to go up against Lady Shiva. I am a little dissapointed that Higgins is not writting issue 14. I hope they are not taking him off the book already.

@ dcjohnny- Thats an interest concept. It has been interesting to see all of the Robins interact in Batman & Robin so if Peter Tomasi would be on the book it would be gold. Him, Snyder or Higgins have done a great job on writing Dick so I would like to see how they would handle all of the Robins in an ongoing series.

@tdk1939 I've been saying for years that Robin's Reckoning would be the best way to gain the support of movie goers. It tells both Robin&Nightwing's origin.

[frick] you, you hurt my feelings! I loved TDKR and that comment just pissed me the [frick] off! People aren't allowed to have different opinions! We're all supposed to like the same exact thing! [frick] you for having an opinion that differs from mine!

@Equinox you don't read the old Batmans that often, do you? Alfred explains through captions quite often that if it weren't for the Robins, Bruce would have become completely lost in the Batman. So it's not that he recruits interns as partners, it's that these children maintain his sanity.

But I haven't read anything past Long Shadows, so Im not sure how Grant Morrison's arcs have twisted the bat mythology. So you may very well have valid points

@Equinox

"Anyways, we all know he is gonna be dead in a year coz he has no training (like Blake), amirite?"

...Um...no...you're not. If Dick was going to die within a year, he would of died like 60 years ago. Bat's trained him extremely well.

Okay, does anyone remember how in Batman #0 Dick, Tim, and Jason were like all the SAME age? What the heck was that about? That is so stupid if they're seriously the same age. Everyone knows, Dick is the oldest and first Robin. Then comes Jason, then Tim being the youngest. Ugh, I hope it isn't true.

@equinox. That was exactly the angle they took Tim Drake in. Tim Drake's Red Robin is the world's 2nd greatest detective.
