I hope not, you can't just go around killing Peter Parker in every story arc.

They won't kill Peter Parker again. They just want to reset the numbering and can't think of a way to do it without promising some huge, devastating event (Schism, I'm looking at you).

I like the new Ultimate story, it's actually pretty decent. The art is awesome and the writing is pretty good, have you even read it?

I hope they don't kill him off. Although i do think the Miles Morales version is going to be awesome in ultimate u, i still hate the thought of them killing off parker. Would be nice to see morales in the 616 universe and join avengers academy, obviously he wouldn't be able to use the spiderman name but he could be like a nightwing type character!

Oh this is getting goddamned ridiculous. If they're really considering killing of The Amazing Spider-Man, then many of the writers over at Marvel should consider an evening of ElectroShock therapy.

Well it does say you’ll have to wait and see as 2012 promises to be the END of Spider-Man! does that mean that Petes gonna give up the mantle of Spidey?

Good grief. I'm still recovering from seeing Ultimate Parker die, I don't think I can handle 616 Parker being killed off without having a heart attack or two.
But if this happens, they'll bring him back eventually, in time for the TASM film.

can't see it,maybe one of the sinister six will die but not spidey,he's got a f*ckin movie to promote.

when bucky cap died, steve rogers he was back in the captain america outfit just in time for the films release.

Y'see, this is why Marvel needs a relaunch. They've had too many deaths/resurrections, and it's gotten to be way too confusing to follow. If they brought everything back to #1 (like what DC's doing), it'll be much easier to follow IMO.

I think they mean the end of the series. In 2012, promotions will be shoved up are asses for The Amazing Spider-Man movie, so I think it will be a renumbering to try and solicite new readers with a start from scratch title to coincide with the movies release buzz. But that is just my two cents.

Miles Morales can be introduced in the 616 universe this way, if Parker gets killed off. :P

spider-man is the most popular & famous comic book character in the world with readers & non readers of comic books.

they will not kill there cash cow, they'll milk it dry & probably flood next year in spider-man comics & appearences in other titles.

with all the crap they got for killing the ultimate version, it would seem incredibly stupid to do the same for 616 version
Thunderkutfo
Thunderkutfo - 9/23/2011, 3:27 PM
Ok, i think i got this figured out, it has to be one of two things: A- marvel's taking this 2012 mayan prophecy thing seriously or B- they'll just start at #1 like uncanny x-men, or 3 this just came to me maybe the movie franchise will be known as amazing and the comics will be known as Spectacular Spiderman, or D- this just came to me, they really will kill parker but bring him back at the next cosmic crossover!

I get it. Marvel, the originator of the source, kills the character, which means Sony no longer has the support of the book, and thus it's profit potential shrinks, forcing them to sell back the property to Marvel!
Oh, sorry , I was sleep writing.

i think they just reseting the series to get new readers, and to support the movie that coming in 2012. although they teased that ben reily might come back, so maybe parker will push daisies for little.

Peter Parker will Never Died In The Mainstream Marvel Universe,I Just Dont See That Happening At All.You See How Much Flack They Got For Trying To Replace Pete With Our Beloved Ben.Who Everyone Now Wants Back,Scarlet Spider Was Too Ahead Of His Time I Suppose. But Yeah Pete Dying Is A Non Factor,Maybe A Brief Retirement But Spidey Is Big Business Not Happening
