So Steve Rogers looks like the Sentry now? Lame.

I wish Steve Rogers had short hair instead of that ridiculous long hair.

I hate JRJR's art most of the time, but this doesn't looks so bad.
The aliens' armor, though, look stupid. Just a bunch of rectangles.
Also, is the cover supposed to be like the first Cap comic ever, where he punches Hitler in the face on the cover? 'Cause if so, that's cool!

How dare we question JRJR brilliance

Ewww.

I don't care about the beard/long hair. As Dionysios pointed out, it's technically story-related.

It's just... like look at his leg in that cover where he's throwing a punch. Legs don't do that. JRjr isn't even trying anymore.

I don't know why but this book (mainly the art) gives me a Ronin vibe by Frank Miller.

Never liked Jr. His father was good. Too bad it was not in the genes...

That is the only thing keeping me from buying the book.

Yeah, @Bola, Jr. can't add variety and individuality to any of his characters.

NEVER cared for JRJR's art, and that was in the 90's when I first started reading comics. As @hope420 pointed out, his art hasn't changed, and in this instance, it isn't a good thing.
I mean, I understand the whole Mike Allred thing. (I don't care for it personally, but I get it.) His style is throwback. But what the hell can you say about JRJR? Could somebody please explain it to me? Is there something technical that makes people think that he's good, or is it just personal preference?
Either way, I personally don't care for it. This is one of those few instances where the art actually keeps me from buying the book, because it's so bad that it's distracting.
And to all of you who might ask the question; No. I can't do better. I just expect that if I'm paying $4 an issue, the artist drawing it can.

@Intruder: Yes, most legs bend (mine don't, my joints have recently been locked into a ridit position with bolts after a recent forklift accident / conspiracy.)

Anyway -- the way he's drawing the bend is placing Cap in an imposible place. His knee is hidging sideways. Knees don't do that. The set up of both legs and both feet are physically impossible.

john romita jr use to be a good artist when he was drawing uncanny x-men & daredevil in the 80s.

No...the art is just weak....people complain about Greg land photo copying style stinking, but honestly the detail in JrJr blends together worse.... Cap looks exactly like Thor.

Beautiful artwork... all the JrJr haters can go suck it, not accounting for taste!!
DoctorDoak
DoctorDoak - 12/16/2012, 4:47 PM
@Intruder:

Good point, but the problem is no one, not even Cap, could do that unless their leg hinged at a second point, beneath the knee, at the top of his boot... His thigh is pointing forward but his shin is jutting out at a 90 degree angle to his left, while his toes remains grounded and level with the horizon. So he either has two knees on that leg, or he dislocated his hip and knee to stand like that, or... JRjr screwed up. The position is just not humanly possible.
