Don't think about it too much sonny, it's a cash grab and a way for Marvel to churn out the Avengers so it gets all the attention (Marvel think the HUGE range of X-Men comics is crowding the Avengers, even though the X-Men is much better).

Marvels going all George Lucas

I actually bought the ones leading up to it. It's an interesting read. They aren't terrible. Good for the Kindle and reading on a plane. :)

Hulk is not Worthy Of Mjolnir. As long as it's in Thor's hand and your strong enough to arm wrestle Thor, you can grab it.

And this could be in continuity just at a different time frame, that's how Marvel roles as of lately.

Crap like this is making me want to read Marvel less and less (DC too for that matter). I'm all for the surprise reveal of a foe thought to be dead, but Thanos just popping up on Earth just feels stupid. If the only way Bendis knows how to "make cosmic work" is to have it all take place on Earth, then he doesn't know how to do cosmic.

I thought DnA's bit of leaving Earth heroes completely out was wrong too. But I think there should be cosmic stuff and Earth stuff, and every so often (when a story calls for it) they should mix. I'm sorry, but why was Pym NOT involved when Ultron commandeered the Phalanx? Just sayin'. And Thanos trying to take over the Earth after all the other things we've seen him do is just garbage. It's a step down. Someone put it best earlier, this is a case of "the tail wagging the dog."

I love the art, Thanos looks boss on that last page.

I don't care if it's inspired on the movies (obviouly is, starting from the title) as long as the story is good.

Writing seem to be solid.

Might give it a go.

Confused........

Why is Thor intruding himself to Thanos like they never met before?

And why is Thor calling his home "Asgardia"?

ANytime I see Hulk hold Mjolnir it pisses me off. Its NOT a matter of strength its if your WORTHY or NOBLE. Cap ok yeah I can understand it, but not Hulk. And what the heck is Asgardia?
HavocPrime
HavocPrime - 6/7/2012, 10:42 AM
@Sage - Thor usually shouts his name at people, that or Odin, on a regular basis.

It's 616. Marvel officially changed the name of Asgard to Asgardia. No clue why, but I swear to you on my life I'm not [frick]ing with you and it's 616. I don't get it either.

@Nomis - ROFL! What you been smoking, dude? That's FUNNY $H!t!

@blackandyellow - Thank you for enlightening the masses, fellow scribe. As one who collects and reads "The Mighty Thor", Asgardia is now ruled by the "all-mother"; Odin is nowhere to be found in this storyline (well, at least until issue #15, interestingly enough).

I collect all of the Avengers titles, including this one. I havent seen anywhere Marvel come out and say this title is in continuity with anything yet. The Hulk has NOT joined the Avengers in ANY of their current 616 titles. Since the film there have been a number of new Avengers books with that roster that were obviously not in current 616 continueity. There have also been books that were based off of the Avengers EMH cartoon. This is obviously one of those.

The giveaway is in the title and the splash page. Avengers Assemble is the title of the new animated series that will replace EMH and the splash page uses the intro to EMH almost word for word. This is clearly based on the animated series and is NOT in current 616 continuity.

Beisdes that, if you read any of the current 616 Avengers titles, they kinda have their hands full at the moment with the X-men and the Phoenix force, and they do NOT have the Hulk on the team. This has FAR too many discrepencies for it to be even remotely possible to be taking place in current 616 continuity.

Nope. That splash page prologue is the proof boys and girls. Its a word for word copy from the script of EMH. It's the shows opening dialog.
