What is Thor protecting here? By having Galactus blast him through the Earth that pretty much dooms Earth and with a broken moon we'd end up with Earth being ravaged by Tidal Waves, Earthquakes, etc... so yeah, as the title says, Earth is [frick]ed.

So... What is he actually fighting Galactus for?

@Scarilian

This story takes place 1000s of years in the future where the Earth is a barren wasteland. Thor is unsuccessfully trying to bring life back to the planet by planting trees. He visits the Earth with his 3 grand daughters and shows them his garden which isn't doing too well. They tell him he is wasting his time and that he should move on with his life. Galactus shows up and wants to eat the Earth. Thor refuses to let Galactus eat the planet because Thor was born on Earth and has fond memories of it.

@JorL5150

This story takes place in two time periods.

In the future, Thor is King of Asgard and is the only God left (besides his 3 granddaughters).

In the present, Thor is the same Thor that we see with the Avengers.

I would think if Thor has the Odin force and he has his full power he should be more powerful that Odin ever was , he would be able to fix the moon easily . As for Galactus , how did Odin do against him ?

Josh you're a great article writer but you're posting spoilers in your titles. Please stop this as x books and god of thunder are two of my favourites at the mo and you're taking the zing out of them a bit.

Cheers

@RetroFit

Agreed.... that plot sounds HORRIBLE. "In the future, Thor is King of Asgard and is the only God left???"
Plus, What is Thor actually fighting Galactus for? A empty, dead Earth?? Seems like more FAN FICTION from
Marvel. SIGH.

Thanks @Nitpicker for providing some background for those of us who do not read this title. Definitely consider picking it up when it comes out in graphic novel form.

I agree with @Odinson's and @Demongod's comments. Marvel has been guilty of underpowering Thor a little bit.

Speaking of power, whatever they do in MOS 2, Zack Snyder better not underpower Superman. During their aerial battle in MOS, Zod throwing Superman through seven skyscrapers was a sight to behold. More epic fights please. Bring on Mongul or Darkseid.

Hollywood should not be scared of showing mass destruction. If you think mass destruction is over the top in Transformers or MOS, just wait until Godzilla arrives next month. Make sure you have your insurance policies in place because the The King of Monsters does not play around!
