That's actually slang from 2099 that was already established from the 90's books so Slott is actually just keeping the character consistent.

aside from the obvious from slott's writing, one would think the closer people in peter's life would notice his odd behavior. Not taking away the fact that there are telepathy's on the avengers smh ...............why
