COMICS: Jonathan Hickman's Marvel NOW! Team Of AVENGERS Revealed?

We know that Jonathan Hickman's upcoming Marvel NOW! relaunched Avengers series will feature a rotating cast of 18 superheroes, but what is perhaps the core team has been revealed in an early sketch by J. Scott Campbell. Check it out!

Brian Michael Bendis has dominated the Avengers books ever since he "Disassembled" the team in 2004. As this era of the Marvel Universe wraps up with the conclusion of Avengers Vs. X-Men this Fall, the Marvel NOW! relaunch brings with it new titles, looks and creative teams. That includes Jonathan Hickman (Secret Warriors, Fantastic Four) taking over two of the core Avengers books; The Avengers and New Avengers. We still know very little about these two titles, but Bleeding Cool have unearthed an interlocking variant cover by J. Scott Campbell for the first issues of All-New X-Men, Uncanny Avengers and Avengers. As you can see, it appears as if the core team will consist of Spider-Man, Black Widow, Hawkeye, Hulk and Iron Man. What do you think of the team?

It’s a new day and a new beginning for the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes, with a brand new team that’s bigger and better than ever before! And they won’t just be 'Earth’s Mightiest Heroes', either – when the galaxy is in danger, the Avengers will answer the call!

Glad to see Hulk back in the Avengers.

I know it won't happen because of the money they get but I wish the only Avengers books were The Avengers and Uncanny Avengers. New Avengers just seems like too much.

Then again, it's been the case for so long now.

Ekhm... it was said that Hickman's Avengers team will be consist of around 15 characters, with smaller number of characters per each issue/arc SO these guys are just the most recognizable part of the bunch, not a 'core team' per se. Just saying ;)

Can't wait to see what Uncanny Avengers has going on under the hood; that team dynamic looks badass. The baseline Avengers title has never left my pull list, so every team change up is definitely worth reading. And New Avengers has consistently remained one of the greatest team ups since the Wu Tang Clan. This has been a [frick]ing amazing year for comics.

@Darkhaven Right, so many comics that I have to read from Marvel NOW. You might as well say that Marvel already has half my money.

and then the "new" New Avengers start in January...I'm also thinking Uncanny X-Men might come back sometime next year. :)

@LAWLZY96 You're not the only one. Spidey used to work alone. Now he's an Avenger AND has a sidekick! I guess after fifty years they need to do something different to keep the story ideas flowing.

Even J. Scott Campbell's rough sketches are a thousand times better than Romita Jr.

Okay, maybe not a thousand times better. A hundred times. A thousand times better than Liefeld.

Storm and Colossus should be in that X-Men team.

who're on the NEW New Avengers..??

why Havok?? and why Rogue...?? i've never been a fan of the latter. her powers seem lame. absorbing by touching..that's kinda kinky and corny at the same time.

they should have Cap and Thor AND Wolverine in the core Avengers team along with Spidey, Hulk, Widow & Hawkeye.

Wanda's bro can join the uncanny avengers..and other main 2nd string avengers.
