no its better, its even better if you read it with avengers & new avengers infinity tie-ins.

the other tie-ins are hit & miss.

Anyone else notice this issue is named 'Thane', which is the name of that guy released in the facebook game who is supposedly Thanos' son? Looks like we're getting the big reveal

Havenless - 10/3/2013, 9:35 AM
FYI, in the game, his power is that his left hand can give life, and his right hand can take it. Very Thanos-y

Jonathan Hickman is the best writer in the last 5 years, his run in Fantastic Four was LEGENDARY !!!

so far, on Avengers' run and Infinity series has NOT disappointed at all !

he should RE-write spiderman books NOW !!!

knocturnalzen10
knocturnalzen10 - 10/3/2013, 11:13 AM
p.s his stories start off very slow an pick up but u need to read the entire serious to see his vision of the ark
Equivocal
Equivocal - 10/3/2013, 11:23 AM
people with ADD and ADHD should stop complaining about Hickman, his writing doesn't come filtered in the first 5 pages of a story...

that's why it's called:

Story telling !

- takes time
- takes more than little cute drawings on a page to tell a story
marvel72
marvel72 - 10/3/2013, 11:27 AM
@ Tinymta3

no but they do make it better, especially avengers & new avengers.

Infinity has been pretty awesome thus far. The scope is large and involves a number of moving parts but I've found it to be very easy to follow. I'm surprised some of you are having problems.
beane2099

@ bropous

Guardians of the Galaxy has almost nothing to do with Infinity (they should, but they don't). SO I wouldn't start there. At this point that business between Peter Quill and Thanos hasn't been given proper context in terms of where that fits in with Infinity. If you just start with Infinity #1 you should be able to follow this just fine. It's written in such a way that you shouldn't have to have read any of Hickman's Avengers books before hand. But if you do, then Avengers 1-3 would probably do it.

I'm reading Infinity, Forever Evil and Battle of the Atom, and Infinity is by far better than both of those right now.

Of course, at the end of the day it's all about where these stories end up. A big problem with most of Marvel's events these past few years has been weak resolution. Some notable exceptions have been Civil War and Siege. But AvX, Secret Invasion, House of M just kind of kept building up and building up and then just ended. Age of Ultron and Fear Itself are in a whole different category of bad. I say all this because for all I know Infinity may end with a whimper and be disappointing for all I know (I doubt it, but it could happen). So while right now I cast my vote as Infinity being the best event series going on right now, I reserve the right to change my vote when it all shakes out.
