Greg Land in the middle, yikes.

It's still nice to see Ed Brubaker, Warren Ellis, Peter David and Mark Waid names inside it. Plus, Joss Whedon.

Is it just a collection of reprints of all #1 issues of all their series instead of new stuff?

No Hickman? Hmmm...

i'd say its pretty clear it's a company wide relaunch (doubt it will be a reboot) seeing as some of these creators haven't done #'1 or haven't been at Marvel long enough to warrant a reprint of the #1's they created.

Very interesting that Jonathan Hickman is not listed. As well as current Marvel artists Chris Samnee and Mike Allred, to name a few. My guess: a line of comics set within the movie universe, perhaps even exclusively online. With Joss Whedon and Stan Lee as executive editors/producers.

@victor Bagley is under romita jr. But no Hickman, which is odd since he's one of the top writers in my opinion

Joss Whedon, Brian Michael Bendis, Mark Millar, Dan Slott, Rick Remender, Jason Aaron... AMAZING. But no Jonathan Hickman? WEIRD. Very weird. Count me intrigued and kind of disappointed if Marvel is losing Jonathan Hickman. And if DC is getting Jonathan Hickman on board, this is HUGE news as well.

Can we get back to comics?
I'm sick of reinvention, I would like some time to invest in these people before they're retconned.

I couldn't find Jim Cheung's name anywhere on that "#1". This sucks since he's one of my favourite Marvel artists. Hopefully he's somewhere working on a brand new Scion series.

Dan Slott......damn...

My guess is its going to be a bunch of mini-series retelling characters origins. Essentially a Marvel-wide "Secret Origins" take.

Although if that was the case, they couldn't really say "Marvel does it FIRST" when DC did the exact same thing for Green Lantern and Superman.

@GrayMatter

They are doing that (copying DC) right now with the Season One books.

The only names I see associated with Marvel movies and television are Whedon and Loeb and they both have written books for Marvel. I see no others.

Anyways, I doubt this is any new material, unless they're really going to get Stan Lee to write a book. I could see the secret origin idea. Maybe they'll pull a Geoff Johns and have an origin tale in the middle of the current runs on these books. Speaking on, at one point didn't Johns say him and Reis were doing a Sinestro Secret Origin?

They should call it #2 because that's what they produce these days. Big steaming piles of #2.

Marvel now is doing well, and there stories are just starting second arcs and finishing first... theyre not rebooting... that would not make any sense, they would only alienate fans not bring in more
niknik
niknik - 3/4/2013, 11:38 AM

Mercwithamouth, stop drinking the kool-aid. Just because they claim its not a reboot doesnt mean squat. When they change nearly every characters appearance and behaviour all at once with an "updated" look and feel, its a reboot. Cap doesnt look like Cap, doesn't act like Cap, and sure doesnt read like Cap. Same goes for most of the other "updated" characters.

If it looks like a reboot, smells like a reboot, and tastes like a reboot, then it IS a reboot, no matter how much they deny it.

Bottom line is the 616 has been rebooted in the image of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, all the way from their movie uniforms on down to Nick Fury's ethnicity.

This is bloody awesome!!! Can't wait for the number 1's... Hulk, Iron Man, Avengers, X-Men... But for Marvel to say the caption below the image which says "Marvel does it first" - now that's just being a douche. We all know DC beat them to it with the New 52.
