Thanks to USA Today, we have a first look at Jeff Lindsay's five-issue Dexter miniseries. The comic book won't be based on the hit Showtime series which stars Michael C. Hall as the titular serial killer, instead taking inspiration from Lindsay's novels (the first season of the show was based quite closely on Darkly Dreaming Dexter). "Marvel Comics has always been a place where I felt at home," the writer told the site earlier today. "It has been a very important part of my life, and has always been a wellspring of creative and relevant ideas. I feel like I'm coming home. It is a huge thrill for me to bring Dexter into this very special pantheon."
The series (which features artwork from Deadpool Kills the Marvel Universe's Dalibor Talajic) "introduces the "Skid Row Slasher" into the Dexter mythology as a rookie serial killer hounding Miami's finest, but before he takes him on, Dexter has to deal with something even more frightening: his high school reunion." Issue #1 of Dexter launches next February.
