Love Alex Ross' cover but no plans to pick this up. I wish he'd do an on-going series!

Ross is off the chain with these cover arts. I need posters of these. they are very reminiscent of the old art from the 60's and 70's

In the days of Peter David run, Marvel decided to produce two books: the incredible hulk and the savage hulk. PAD, protested that the comicbook would not work because his book (incredible hulk) was an evolved Bruce Banner and that the old Hulk without a brain no longer worked. Marvel went ahead anyway, after a short run the savage title was cancelled.

Here we go again, from Thor and Loki having a joint sister, to Logan dying, to Spiderman and scarlet spiderman storylines, this again is a poorly conceived idea.

Alan Davis is a great artist, some of his work on the X men was not bad but sadly, a savage Hulk will no longer work because it lacks character dimensions of the Hulk. Peter David, reconfigured the Hulk hence why his run was so long and one of the few writers who gave the Hulk a great dimension from the Ghost of the past and ghost of the future storylines, plus other great threads into the character (Multiple Personality Disorder)etc.

The new movie should be called the Savage Hulk.

I like Alex Ross but the only one of these 75th Anniversary covers that has excited me is his Amazing Spider-Man variant. This is good, but not mind-blowing like much of his work.

Too bad the corporate suits that now run the comic book biz are so tight fisted with the purse strings that they no longer spend the coin to put quality artists like Ross on a mini series or even graphic novel any longer. Those days are gone. All you get is the occasional cover art. Gotta squeeze every last nickel of profit out of the industry.

btw, this reminds me of a black and white magazine sized book put out in the early 80's titled Rampaging Hulk. Like Savage Tales. It too had great painted covers by well known artist like Earl Norem and Joe Jusko. Even Starlin painted a cover.

I bet the inside art is as bad as pretty much ALL Marvel's comic book art these days.
