Speak for yourself. Fear Itself was awesome, despite the "undo" button being pressed in the prologue issues.
So was Siege, and godammit so was Avengers vs XMen.

The XMen had the freaking Phoenix Force at their command!! Iron Fist and Shao Lao helped save the world!! Scott killed Prof in a Phoenix fuelled rage!! The mutant gene was restored after 10 long years of doom!! Spidey getting whomped by Colossus and Magik! And the art, some classic images in that series.

No pleasing some people.

We all knew this was going to sell out in like a day but thankfully the issue was awesome as [frick] so it deserves to sell out unlike a certain other hyped up Marvel #1 this year cough X-Men #1 cough.

@Nomis, he's not invulnerable, why does he need a shield in that case? He can heal a little faster, he can take a little more beating, but he's no god. Just 110% peak human.

ekrolo2 - 8/15/2013, 8:59 AM
@Nomis

Hes no more invulnerable than you or me, sure he could probably take a much bigger beating than the average Joe but a knife or bullet will kill him just the same as it would a regular human.

The first issue was awesome! If Hickman keeps it up, this can be the best Marvel event in years.

@Nomis Yup, Cap's abilities are at that of human's peak potential. His physicals, durability, etc are that of what humans will be able to do someday when they evolve. He is basically superhuman, but can be killed like a regular human, granted it will take more to kill him than a regular dude.

@ nomis

cap would die if he got shot in the head? maybe that's why he wears a helmet.
SageMode
SageMode - 8/15/2013, 9:18 AM
Cap has enhanced-human physical attributes, which is superior to peak human but inferior to superhuman (even though he's displayed borderline low-level superhuman feats at some points). I remember one time Cap was bombarded with bullets and still survived.

Cap jumps higher than Lebron James, is faster than Usain Bolt, more agile than the entire US gymnastics team, swims faster than Michael Phelps and is stronger than and stronger than any of the guys in the Strongmen competitions. He must also be a great billiards player. But he can die just like you or I.

Although there are times that Cap appears superhuman. He has taken some heavy beatings and survived and has kicked the butt of many superhumans. So go figure.

I just read it. Very good. Has a very old school Marvel vibe with the narration. This feels like Marvels Final Crisis.

That pic of cap isn't meant to be on a cover. Its from a panel inside Infinity #1.

Now you're just being an A-Hole. Nearly every ground Combat Troop in Dozens of nations militaries wears a chin strap like that.

So I'm confused. Is this just a re-telling of the "Infinity Gauntlet" storyline? Or something brand new all together.
