I loved 700.1, I thought it was a great book. The art complimented the story and it just worked.

"Bring Peter Parker back". Suck it up, he's dead. If you don't like it, it's at least 700 back issues you can read.

It would take a LOT to get me back into comics, but Superior Spider-man sounds awesome.

I bought this and then was immediately regretful. It must have been an unused script from way back. Classic Spidey, so there's that, but it doesn't tie into the ongoing. And right now, all I really care about is Superior Spider-Man. Otto is truly Superior, and I look forward to Peter learning a few things from him when he inevitably returns.

@Dunejedi1- I don't care who's under spiderman's mask. I'm just tired of people whining about Peter Parker. You read the comics for "Spiderman", you don't care about what Peter Parker does out of costume, you don't care what Peter Parker ate this morning, you dont care what bills Peter Parker has to pay. You only care about what "Spiderman" does.
Vaportrail
Vaportrail - 12/8/2013, 10:53 AM
WruceBayne, you couldn't be more wrong.
The man behind the mask is still the one who speaks through it. The stories are completely different with Ock in there and that's not the character we all love.

I won't be reading Spider-Man again until Peter Parker being featured it is no longer a news item.
capcyclopsftw
capcyclopsftw - 12/8/2013, 11:09 AM
WruceBayne - that is where you are wrong. When Stan Lee created Marvel, he did it with the intent that you care about the people behind the mask as well. That's why we all love Peter, because he is us.

DC is made to make you care about the cape.
CaptainObvious
CaptainObvious - 12/8/2013, 11:15 AM
@XavierLehnsherr- Yes, defend the evil psychopath who not only murdered a superhero, but hundreds of innocent people. I don't even need to remind you he also contemplated raping Mary Jane one time.
WruceBayne
WruceBayne - 12/8/2013, 11:25 AM
@capcyclopsftw- Well bro, good luck on finding those stories on how much Peter Parker pays in rent. Peter Parker doesn't make Spiderman interesting, Spiderman makes Peter Parker interesting.

BRING BACK THE REAL PETER PARKER DAMMIT.

"Peter Parker doesn't make Spiderman interesting, Spiderman makes Peter Parker interesting."

This is the truth. However, instead of figuring out a way to make Peter Parker fresh, make him mature and be relatable again, they take a cheap route.

While I find myself often cheering on Spidey Ock, I also think in the back of my mind, this is only making it more obvious how flawed and unrelatable Peter Parker's character was. If and when he comes back, I hope he finally "grows up" and learns to deal with his own personal life with that same responsibility he's always yammering about.
ScionStorm
ScionStorm - 12/8/2013, 1:36 PM
WruceBayne@ Nope Peter Parker is what makes Spider-Man interesting. WIthout Peter that costume is just a flashy suit and those powers are just gimmick action. Peter brings the character. I don't even know how you can make a statement like that given the majority of all Spider-Man comics follow a distinct format of heavy narration and inner commentary from the character behind the mask giving Spider-Man his trademark personality.

Peter's name appears in the title before his alter ego's in the second series he was given for Pete's sake. Peter Parker The Spectacular Spider-Man!

Whenever I have picked up a Superior comic now all I see under the mask is a disturbing brutality bent on achieving new levels of egotism twice a month.

I will say this while I thought Slott's initial run on the character was fairly decent, he's created a story-line that is worse than The Clone Saga and Sins Pasts combined. While I hated JMS's Sins Pasts story-line it was only really the Gwen having kids with Norman Osborn that irked me. I mean if it had turned out to be Peter's Kids which was initially what he wanted to do I think that would've been a damn fine story. But this Spider-Ock thing was far beyond that it's like Slott decided let me take a steaming dump all over the character and then continue to wipe my butt with him. I know Peter will be back when ASM 2 kicks into theaters, but these stories just make me wish it was sooner.

I just like comics...most of them anyway. I've read every single Parker book to date, in someway shape or form. I miss his banter with the bad guys. Doc Ock spidy was done very well, he's just a different Spidy. Maybe Pete comes back in a differnt body to become a different wall cralwer. Anyway I'll read it. Keeps me from hating my wife;)
