First Cyclops, now the Punisher. Is marvel self-deprecating or just ungrateful?

Just based on the power set, I don't see how Punisher could ever hope to defeat Spider-Man one on one. However, mentally, I've always felt that Punisher is not someone Peter would want to mess with. They just seem like heroes out of two very different worlds to me.

Again, I fully realize Spider-Man should win. I just... I dunno... I wouldn't mess with Frank.

Weren't they just teamed up together with Daredevil a few months ago? I wonder what the Marvel villains are doing while all the heroes are busy fighting each other?

If batman can fight abnormal or superhuman beings, then so can punisher. There both just as human and both just as skilled with the backing of there gadgets. So on that note, this might be worth checking out.

Punisher is fun in his element--but there is zero chance he could stand against The Avengers. He is just outgunned.

@sameoldthing -- Who's whining? I was making an observation based on thirty solid years of reading comic books. And over these many years I find it ridiculous that a character like Spider-Man, who cut his teeth in his earliest adventures taking on MULTIPLE armed opponents and has gone on to hold his own against the likes of Hulk, Thing, Firelord and many another massively powered characters, has so much trouble handling an ex-marine in a Hot Topic shirt.

If Rucka's going to write an interesting story, it should be one full issue explaining what makes him or any other Marvel writer think they can rationally justify how Frank Castle would stand a fly's chance in a frog pond against an opponent as ridiculously out of his league as Spider-Man.

All you clowns hating on Frank need to choke on a fat sticky one. For one Frank is fully aware this day would come and like a good Marine he is well prepared. I've read Punisher for over 20+ years and now that he has started making use of the Marvel based weapons (tentacles, Cyclops visor etc.,) Punisher would be a serious force to reckon with. This is the same man who didn't need super powers to stab Ulik in the throat and receive a recommendation to enter Valhalla, shoot Wolverine in the face with a shotgun (point blank), and have Hulk pwn Daredevil, Spidey, and Wolverine. The only argument I hear for Spidey is that he is too powerful. Well time has shown that brains overcome brawn and Frank has definitely prepared for this moment. You don't think he has studied every single one of The Avengers, from strength to weakness? He knew all along they would be coming for him! Frank is Marvel's Batman! Deal with it!!!

Go Frank, whoop on those Avengers!

Im not sure why...but I feel like Punisher's beard adds some humanity...since he's basically a gun totting sociopath lol GO FRANK!!!
