No one smokes in Marvel anymore. This is from an article on why that is:

"Quesada had lost a grandfather to lung cancer, so believed that showing characters, especially heroic ones, smoking glamorised and encouraged the habit and thus cancer."


Why blood and murder is still ok though is beyond me.

I feel like showing villains smoking and heroes only smoking before the 60s is fine. I do understand that kids 100% know killing is wrong, but smoking is ambiguous so seeing a hero smoke makes them think it's ok to smoke or that cool heroic people smoke.

But Logan smoking made sense because he can't die so why would he be worried about smoking. It would be ironic if he died of lung cancer after he lost his healing power...
