Thank god Bendis took over X-Men and is far away from my Avengers. His childish banter suits those X-Losers. If only he would get bored already and leave GotG...

LOVE the 3rd cover! At least it has comics fun designed into it (not like all these movie wannabe posters that pass for covers these days. Posing! That's all we get today . . . posing.

@Magus I agree about the banter in Avengers, but when applied to Spider-Man against the dynamic of the rest of the group, he would have me rolling.

Let me get this straight -- now there are TWO VERSIONS of the original X-Men in the same timeline??? And Jean Grey once more has to answer for her crimes as Phoenix... hasn't this been done before??? SMH, the X-Men used to be so easy to read and enjoy!!!

Bendis has no original ideas.. He pads out his comics with dialogue that goes nowhere. Have you ever noticed he spends 8 pages on characters meeting each other.. How many times have you read this exchange?
"Scott.? I..."
"Is it.. Can I..?"
"Wow.. Just.... wow.."

And yet everyone thinks he's the greatest writer..

Here's something else.. If you take someone from the past then you have CHANGED the past.. So when that person comes to the future they are seeing a world that HASN'T HAD THEM IN IT. Doesn't anyone remember Yesterday's Enterprise.?

Cry babies, cry babies, suck your thumbs... that is for all the whining going on here. If some of you have such brilliant ideas that could make things soooo much better, why aren't you guys writing comics?

... crickets... all I hear is crickets...

Jean Grey is such an annoying bitch.

Bendis ruined the X-Men. I could do better but I don't want a lousy comics writers salary.

Not sure I dig the whole Power Ranger/Voltron colored suits thing.

The X-Men should be suited up with similar suits/colors, they are a team after all.

1. While I agree that his style may not work for every character in the Marvel Universe, Bendis is still my favorite comic writer, because he knows how to make things FUN. Look at the influence that Ultimate Spider-Man has had. You have to remember this is a younger team learning to fit into today's world. Why the hell wouldn't he be able to pull that off?

And I'm sorry. Singing "It's Tricky" by Run DMC while making a snow angel might be the best thing Iceman has ever done.

So many Bendis fans love his X-Men run, so many X-Men fans hate it. Reminds me of the people who liked Keanu in Constantine.

I mean, if you're a Bendis fan, you're in luck, because the characters all talk and act like Bendis characters. Plenty of coffee banter type scenes. If you actually liked any of these characters before though, too bad. They've been rewritten as Bendis-tropes.

John Byrne. Maaaaannnnnnn.
He may be a mad tyrant in person but the man's work is absolutely timeless.

Just completely solid.

"I love that Iceman panel. Brilliant. But, in the current timeline, wouldn't the original X-Men be from the late 90's? Beast's older than the other four by five years or so and he's supposed to be 35 in the present, right?"

Come on now man, you know comic time is all screwey and doesn't run the same way our real time works.
