ANTI-VENOM IS BACK! The two previous arcs of Amazing have only been okay. The Fantastic Four one was alright, but Spidey took a back-seat and became a side-character in his own series. The Avengers Academy one was good.....but felt like it should have been in Marvel Team-Up. This series was going down slowly....but when I heard that Anti-Venom would be returning, I had renewed interest. So, how does this issue fare? Read on.
I am happy to report that this issue is the best in awhile. Now this is what a Spidey story should be. Surprising twists, the characters are played right, and it's fast-paced.
Anti-Venom, who hasn't been seen since his miniseries last year, is back and looking cool. I love his wording on everything...."You're more afraid of her than of me? Fool." Classic.
Of course, the big thing about this arc is the return of Jean DeWolff, a close friend of Spidey from many years ago. This is interesting, however, I'd bet that it's a fake.
The art is very good, no complaints there.
In closing, this is a very good issue. I'm going to like this arc.
I give this issue a 4/5.
