Spoiler

No seriously, spoiler

The Thing is mad that Johnny Storm sabotaged a machine that could have turned him back to looking normal.

This reveal is dumb for a few reasons. How many times has Mr Fantastic failed and why would this be any different. And for me the Thing has lost all credibility of wanting to be normal looking because he has chosen to revert to his rocky appearance in order to save a lives. Just give it a rest and stay the Thing.

Snotzo--Good Point! I thought the big secret would involve Johnny and Alicia Masters, or something like that. The old "I want to be human" thing is well-worn by now.

@ Snotzo

I agree. The long-running subplot of Ben Grimm wanting to become human again has been played out far too often. Over the years, he's briefly reverted to human form via accident, Reed's experiments, or lost his powers but had to regain them somehow.

It's a shame that Marvel doesn't try something new with the characters. Remember how Valeria Richard first showed her intellect to an alternate aged version of her mother? She was reluctant to reveal it, explaining that her abilities would shake-up the family dynamic and cause Franklin to be estranged from his parents? Apart from briefly working with Dr. Doom (who helped save her life), that plot point was never revisited.
