"It's going to be the most fun guilty pleasure you'll have fun all summer long in a comic book form," Slott said.
Nick Spencer on Spider-Island: Cloak & Dagger: "I've been begging to work on Cloak & Dagger pretty much since I got to Marvel," Spencer said, adding that Emma Rios is "turning in the work of her career."
Wacker talks the Spider-Girl tie-in to Spider-Island: "Part of her past is coming back to — not really haunt her, but viciously attack her."
"We're taking sort of a gothic horror angle to the kung fu here," Johnston says of Spider-Island: Deadly Hands of Kung Fu. "It starts with a nightmare where Shang thinks he's turning into a spider."
Wacker talks about the Deadly Foes one-shot, calling Jackal a character that "goes all the way back to the dreaded Clone Saga."
Wacker on Spider-Island: Avengers one-shot: "I just wanted a comic where Frog Man shows up and claims he's on the Avengers."
September brings the digital Spider-Island: "I Love New York City" digital stories, with a cat getting spider-powers in a story by Skottie Young, a mother getting spider-powers in a story by Kelly Sue DeConnick, and a peek at the Punisher in the midst of Spider-Island written by Greg Rucka. "It's Greg actually writing a funny story," Wacker said.
Remender on the Venom tie-ins to Spider-Island: "Long-term readers will know Flash's father is an abusive alcoholic, and this will come to a head in Spider-Island. He's given all these missions, and at the same time, he's got a father in the hospital."
Lan Medina is taking over art on Venom as of issue #9.
Also coming: Spider-Island: Spider-Woman, which was said to play off of an old story involving Spider-Woman, Thing and Alicia Masters.
Wells talks Avenging Spider-Man: "We just want to tell big, fun stories, with some of the best artists in the business. We're going to try to bring in as many of the Marvel A-listers as we can."
Marvel's Arune Singh says Daredevil is the "best comic being published" right now.
"It was a gamble. It was a big roll of the dice. All of the great team, and all of the great writers that have been on the book ever since, they're still all in the shadow of Frank [Miller] to some degree. I was really nervous. We're not doing goofy, we're not doing retro, but you don't have to have a drink after every issue," Waid says.
Waid also praised the work of series artists Paolo Rivera and Marcos Martin. "You can't go wrong with those guys."
Punisher #1 is coming in August.
"I've had a lot of late nights going out and shooing people," Rucka joked when discussing his preparation going into the title. "There's very little you have to do with Frank. Frank wants to kill bad people."
"It is baseline Frank Castle as you know and love him," Rucka said, "or frankly, if you love him, seek help."
Audience Q&A time.
"We go three issues and he doesn't say a word," Rucka says. "He doesn't need to." Rucka said the story will begin with 29 people dying at a wedding, including most of the bridal party.
"This is Peter Parker's story," Wacker said of Spider-Island. "It's his hero moment."
Wacker told a fan that Avenging Spider-Man is "kind of scratching that itch" of Marvel Team-Up.
Wells said that after a while the team ups will be open to anybody, not just Avengers or FF members.
The "one Clone Saga fan in the entire room" (his words) asked if Ben Reilly was going to come back anytime soon. Wacker: "No."
Wacker said Wells and Remender are having lunch together tomorrow, suggesting some type of future interactions between Venom and Carnage.
Wacker answered the fan by saying that Slott sold him on using the Jackal, and that he believes in the aphorism that there are "no bad characters."
Any plans to undo One More Day? "Absolutely not," Wacker responded.
Will Black Widow be in Daredevil? "They need to have a meeting of the minds," Waid said, adding that they've talked about it.
Crossover between Daredevil and Punisher? Waid and Rucka said they had dinner last night and discussed the possibility, and hinted that it'll happen around issue #9 or #10 - and that it'll be a "significant" crossover.
Panel ended with that image, which appears to be the Scarlet Spider's hoodie on fire. No further information was given.
