Recently I made an article on questions we have been left with from the Ultimate universe, But one I missed out is What happened to Doctor Strange, I mean yes we saw him die but the question is who was the figure we saw 'magically' teleport him away?

Okay so Doctor Strange wasn't as big a character he is in the 616 universe but then again which Ultimate character is? He was seen during Ultimate Spiderman mostly being introduced in Ultimate Team Up and died in Ultimatum.

There were major differences in this character compared to his 616 counterpart for example:

He was Stephen Strange Jr.

Clea was his mother

He was a late night TV star

He was a lot younger than his 616 counterpart

During his time in the Ultimate universe we saw him join Daredevils Marvel Knights team to take down the Kingpin (Although we never knew his reasons as to why he wanted to kill the Kingpin), He wasn't so good at the Mystic Arts as his father the previous Doctor Strange and would only barely safe the day out of luck.

Now during Ultimatum the younger Strange was possessed by Nightmare and later brutally slain by Dormammu after the Hulk rampaged into the Sanctum Sanctorum and destroyed the Orb of Acmantata while defeating Nightmare.
Dormammu used a robe wrapped around Strange and tightly squeezed him to death (eyes popping and all!)and then we saw this Stranger walk over to his dead body and produced a bright light which took the pair away.

My question, Who was this Stranger? Clea?, His father (who we thought was dead) Wong? Why was this never explained when it was set up as if to tie in to an upcoming story when Ultimatum was released in 2009.

reread this event a few months ago and i gotta say I was prob just as irritated and upset as when i first read the thing. I did think that Strange woulda got his own comic after that in the Ultimate but it never happened. Can't decide who's death was the worst in that thing but it was prob Wasp. Haven't been able to look at Blob the same since then.

That's one of the many crappy things about Ultimatum. So many questions left unanswered.
