What I Think MARVEL'S Unannounced Movies Will Be

I give my thoughts on which characters will be chosen for Marvel's movies from 2016-2019.

So, as you all know (unless you've been hiding under a rock for the last month), Marvel Studios has announced 8 new movies! While we don't know for sure what these films will be, we all have a pretty sure idea what some of them will be. Here is my list:

1.) July 8, 2016: Doctor Strange

Ok, this one is pretty obvious. With Marvel announcing Scott Derrickson (Sinister) to direct and Jon Spaihts (Prometheus) to write, this movie is obviously the next movie after Captain America 3 (coming May 6, 2016). Who will star as The Sorcerer Supreme is yet to be determined. I'm also pretty sure we might see the Soul Gem in this film...

2.) May 5, 2017: Thor 3

Again, obvious, but not as much. Clearly, Thor 3 will come 2017. Which month is tricky, but the first Thor was released on May 6, 2011 so this release date is not out of the question. And since Guardings of the Galaxy 2 will be releaed next and Doctor Strange most likely released on the date before May 5, I really doubt Marvel will release two new franchises in a row. And also, this is the next confirmed Marvel movie, so it seems likely. This should also have a gem in it.

3.) July 28, 2017: Guardians of the Galaxy 2

This movies date obviously has been confirmed, so I don't need to talk about it. If Thor 3 doesn't have a gem, this has to.

4.) November 3, 2017: Black Panther

Black Panther is a character that has been requested by any sane person not trapped in Gusto's basement. Even Marvel and Kevin Feige himself have said they'd be up to bringing the king of Wakanda to the big screen. So why not? Even Stan "The Man" Lee has said that there "Will be a movie pretty soon". Now, just because Stan Lee says Marvel is making Black Panther doesn't mean we will see him. But, Marvel has already introduced Vibranium, and it's rumored that Wakanda will make some sort of appearance in Avengers: Age of Ultron. And the sooner Marvel does this, the better. And if not Black Panther, I'd assume Ms. Marvel is another possibility.(I'd rather see Black Panther, though...)

5.) May 4, 2018: Iron Man 4? Hulk 2!?

(Pardon this big-ass picture...) Okay, okay. Now this is where it gets tricky. What will be released on May 4, 2018? Could it be an Incredible Hulk 2? Or could it possibly be Iron Man 4? Recently, Kevin Feige and Robert Downey Jr. have both stated they'd both be up for Iron Man 4, but it's all up to Marvel and Disney. Could we finally see the true Mandarin? Or is Iron Man 3 the last of the Iron Man series? Personally, I think each series in the MCU should stop at a trilogy to keep it neat, but there are just so many places they could go with all these characters! And I'd love to see more Iron Man. This could also be a sequel to 2008's The Incredible Hulk. Many fans have wanted an adaptation of the popular Planet Hulk storyline, but I believe that Marvel shouldn't go just there. Yet. I think we should see The Leader (who could possibly escape S.H.I.E.L.D custody on Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) and have General Ross become Red Hulk. There were all those samples of Bruce Banner's blood in TIH (which obviously was used to set up a sequel.), so who knows what else is possible? But, since Marvel and Joss Whedon have both stated how difficult it is to make a stand alone Hulk movie, this might not be the way to go. They did say Hulk works better with other characters, so maybe they could have Black Widow, Hawkeye, or Nick Fury involved? Either way, I would save Planet Hulk for Phase 4, leading up to a Avengers 4 based on World War Hulk. And who knows, it might be another Marvel film altogether. Ms. Marvel, maybe?

6.) July 6, 2018: Ant Man 2

The reason I say Ant Man 2 is because the first Ant Man will be released in July 2015. Also, because Marvel has said that each year, they will make a sequel and a new franchise. And this new franchise I believe will be...

7.) November 2, 2018: Inhumans

Hmm...This could be very right, but also very wrong. Vin Diesel has hinted at playing Black Bolt in a phase 3 Inhumans movie, but he could be trolling us like with Groot. I do have a feeling this might be it, though. The Inhumans will be the MCU version of mutants. This date could belong to another movie, but I'd like to think maybe The Inhumans will help The Avengers against Thanos. Or not, because god forbid, too many characters! Speaking of Avengers...

8.) May 3, 2019: The Avengers 3

Obviously. After all this will be opening in the month of every single Avengers film by then. In this, Thanos gets all 6 Gems and the Infinity Gauntlet, he comes to earth to kill The Avengers  and destroy the universe to please his boner. Whether Lady Death will make an appearance (maybe to revive some fallen Avengers?) remains to be seen. I'm not entirely sure how those rights work. Similar to Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch, I assume.  This film should involve The Guardians of the Galaxy teaming with The Avengers to stop The Mad Titan. Do you guys think they will add other heroes, too? Or would it become too crowded?

So, that's what I think will happen during this long-ass phase 3. So, if I am correct, from The Avengers: Age of Ultron to The Avengers 3 should consist of:

Avengers: Age of Ultron (May 1, 2015)

Ant-Man (July 17, 2015)

Captain America 3 (May 6, 2016)

Doctor Strange (July 8, 2016)

Thor 3 (May 5, 2017)

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 (July 28, 2017)

Black Panther (November 3, 2017)

Iron Man 4, Hulk 2, Ms. Marvel? (May 4, 2018)

Ant Man 2 (July 6, 2018)

Inhumans (November 2, 2018)

Avengers 3 (May 3, 2019)

So, what do you guys think? Does this sound pretty accurate to you? Or am I talking out of my ass? What do you agree with? Disagree with? Which movies do you think we'll get? Let me know in the comments below. Thanos out!

I want to see badass Black Panther, drugged up Doctor Strange (acid to be specific), and intense Inhumans.

I'm dying to see Ms Marvel and Inhumans and Black Panther.
I just don't want Inhumans so far away! :(

I'm worried because SW and Quicksilver are dubbed "miracles" or something? I'm hoping this is just a nickname and they're actually Inhumans.

Inhumans would be EPIC.
They've proved that they can make a ton of money with an already established team-up movie. So I'm hoping they'll wanna recreate the magic again.

They will not, under any circumstance, do two Ant-Man films in Phase 3.

Inhumans will happen, very confident.

I'd rather not see Thor 3. I would rather see new characters brought to the screen earlier.

@dapussy

Woo! Haha definitely, instead of having their own movie, they could be two characters who appear in supporting roles in a few Marvel films. :) especially Inhumans.

Yeah, I bet Avengers 3 will be 2018 to keep that same 3 year gap in between each avengers outing.

i personally hope avengers 3 is in 2019 if they use thanos for avengers 3 simply because it gives them more build up time. but it will probably be released in 2018.

I hope you're right, but Kevin Feige has already said that he expects Avengers 3 to come out on the first date of 2018.

Most likely:

2015 Ant Man
2016 Captain America 3
2016 Dr. Strange
2017 Thor 3
2017 Guarians of the Galaxy 2
2017 Inumans
2018 Avengers 3

That way, they can introduce the Kree in GOTG2, bring the Kree to Earth in the Inhumans, and then introduce Captain/Ms. Marvel in Avengers 3.

Le sigh.

I find it odd how people here actually WANT such dull names for their movies, such standalone and uninspiring titles.

How about "the King of Wakanda"? "the Sorcerer Supreme"?

Doctor Who HAD some interesting names for their episodes - they actually stand out. "Arc of Infinity", "Castrovalva", "a Good Man Goes to War", "Silence in the Library", "The Girl in the Fireplace"... all memorable episodes, and all interesting names.

Strange complaint, I understand, but there it is.

Marvel isn't going to give them different names.

I still think Avengers 3 won't end up being the Infinity Gauntlet. I think Marvel will release a two part film featuring guardians, avengers, inhumans etc vs thanos.

Great list!

Replace Ant-Man 2 with Captain Marvel and make an Iron Man/Hulk film. People have a hard time picking between the two so just do BOTH together. It's not too random, because they're already friends, so their connections are established and you can get to the story right away.

If that happens, I imagine the villains will be Mandarin and The Leader. Mandarin is a given if they do another Iron Man film because of the way All Hail The King ended, and Leader is a given if they do another Hulk film (on Earth). Have Mandarin hunt down the Leader because he needs the gamma radiation.

I can't believe you would rather see a ms marvel movie and a thanos solo movie before a black panther movie. Please leave now. Please.

I think most of these are pretty much assured. I would prefer that Inhumans waits until after Avengers 3, and we instead are given a female lead film to take that date/slot, such as Ms. Marvel or what have you. But what with Quicksilver/Scarlet Witch being in A2, and their rumored connection to the Inhumans, I think this is far more likely.

As for Iron Man 4 and Incredible Hulk 2, why not give us both in one mash up film. Make it an official Hulk sequel, but promote it as a team up: "The Incredible Hulk 2: Iron Adventure", or something to that effect (and less corny haha). The chemistry between Downy and Ruffalo is great, and should be capitalized on before one or both of these actors choose to leave their respective roles.

Oh, and I totally forgot that Ant Man 2 won't be in Phase 3. That would be two Ant-Man films in Phase 3, and that definitely won't be happening. So therefore my previous comment about replacing Inhumans with a female hero film, can be changed to this:

Inhumans stay, and replace Ant-Man 2 with a female hero film, like Ms. Marvel or what have you.

I would put Iron Man 4 for May 2018, Hulk 2 for July 2018. Everything else I agree with. Except that the Soul Stone should be introduced in Doctor Strange. The Soul Stone has always had a connection to Adam Warlock. So I say save the Soul Stone for Guardians of the Galaxy 2, and introduce Adam Warlock also.

I actually had the exact same list, except I committed to hulk 2 and iron man 4, without antman 2. But now I feel inhumans is a 2017 film based on vin diesel's comments.

Replace Ant-Man 2 with a Ms. Marvel movie, solo Black Widow movie or Iron Man/Hulk movie (whoever didn't get the other slot) and I think you've got a pretty good line-up.
