SPOILERS: This Original Member Of The X-MEN Will Be Outed As Being Gay Tomorrow

In a shocking development, Brian Michael Bendis will tomorrow reveal in the pages of All-New X-Men #40 that a member of the X-Men is gay. Is it Cyclops? Jean Grey? Angel? Beast? Iceman? You can find out right here, but be warned of potentially major spoilers ahead...

Well, this is an unexpected development! Despite the fact that his present day counterpart isn't gay, Iceman's younger self is according to the following scans from tomorrow's issue of All-New X-Men (via Bleeding Cool). Perhaps Bobby Drake has been keeping his homosexuality to himself for all these years or circumstances led to him just not being gay in the Marvel Universe timeline, but this is a plot development which makes little to no sense. On the other hand, there have been hints over the years that Iceman may be interested in guys, so perhaps this will lead to the older version coming out at some point too. Be sure to share your thoughts on this development below!

This is an obvious push for...whatever. It's so unnatural to the story. I mean, really, they just brought this out of the blue. They must be really lacking some motivation for character development or something.

Probably just the kid, as sudden as each scenario is. But of course they're going to toy with older Bobby for awhile now which will lead nowhere.

This makes no sense whatsoever LOL.
Too bad they wasted the opportunity. It made sense when Alan Scott was rebooted as Gay. it was a new Universe and a new beginning. THIS, is just utter shite LOL

Keeping his homosexuality a secret? Uh... In the original comics, he hit on Jean in nearly every panel. Jesus, Marvel just can't seem to come up with anything incredible anymore and strive for shock value.

I heard over the years that many pseculated that iceman was in the closet and that was the reason his Ultimate version is explicitly gay, not that strange.
