ABC will be shelling out big bucks to keep America's favorite female super-spy on the small screen for a few more years. Jennifer Garner, who plays undercover agent Sydney Barstow on ABC's Emmy-nominated Alias, is close to closing a deal that will keep her on the drama through the 2007-08 season.
Under her new deal, Garner is also expected to receive a big salary bump, which will nearly triple her current salary to $150,00 per episode, giving her an estimated $3.3 million per 22-episode season. Garner is said to have started the show in 2001 making approximately $40,000 per episode. Garner's deal also adds another year to her commitment to the show, keeping her around through a seventh season.
The Touchstone Television-produced Alias will be starting its third season in the fall. The show has gathered a cult following and has earned many critical accolades and awards during its first two season. Garner recently picked up her second Emmy nomination as best actress in a drama series, and she has earned two Golden Globe nominations and one win for her performance.
Garner, repped by Endeavor, is making a name for herself in features as well, having recently appeared with Leonardo DiCaprio in Catch Me If You Can and with Ben Affleck in Daredevil. She recently wrapped a starring role in Columbia Pictures' 13 Going on 30 and will next be shooting Happy Endings, co-starring Lisa Kudrow.
