Clark Duke co-stars in the new comic book film Kick-Ass,so in one of the interviews he talked about that he would like to write the Daredevil reboot and gives his thoughts on the character.

Check it out:

-Are there any comics you’d interested in adapting yourself?

"Yeah,I wish they’d let me write and direct a reboot of Daredevil. I think there’s definitely a way to do Daredevil correctly that nobody’s figured out for some reason."

-What would you do differently?

"First of all just tonally. I would completely… he’s a pulp hero, I think you address it, you have to have respect for the reality of it to some extent. And also I think you play with, the most interesting thing about him is he’s a lawyer who’s committing crime every night, he’s a catholic that dresses up like the devil, there’s all this thematic stuff that’s so fun to play with, that’s so awesome, I think [Ed] Brubaker’s run is my generations’ defining… I think they’re honestly better than the Frank Miller run. And somebody should make that into a film.Like Fox is gonna let me… start that rumor, maybe they’ll call me. I could write the hell out of that Daredevil movie though."

So what do you think about his take on the new Dardevil film?

That honestly sounds like it could be sweet. No idea how strong he is as a writer but he seems knowledgeable and his ideas are intriguing. But hell, anything is better than the 2003 flick.

Let him have a crack at it, young writers are usually the best and I he sounds like he knows the characters mythology quite a bit so give him a shot, for all we know he could write the best Daredevil script ever written.

i love his vision. dare devil is such a great character, and with one of the greatest villians out there in kingpin. other great villians/chracters like elektra, bullseye, the hand. the first film tried but failed big time.

Is that the dude from Hot Tub Time Machine? Anyway, I agree with him, Brubaker is the way to go for a reboot..I don't like his work as much as Miller's but since Miller's was already attempted(loosely) in the other movie, bring on Bru!

I don't know. I'm old school. I love Miller's run. Clearly the most iconic, but Brubaker has brought him back in such a major way.

blankofthedead@ at first, while reading your comment, i was like damn dude you don't have to be so harsh ease up on the guy. then you busted out that "lesbian/big toe" line. lol classic. so many people i can apply that to in my daily life. i owe you a beer.

Yeah I'm with you Ror. Unless you actually got Miller to direct it himself, the miller arcs are out. It's been proven the only person that can adapt Frank Miller is Frank Miller. I'm all about some Brubaker. For better or worse, his writing is very cinematic. Although, if you could adapt any Brubaker work into a movie, I would go for the first 3 arcs of "Immortal Iron Fist".

Whether he can write or not, he seems to have a much better idea on how this movie should go that the last guy did, lol! :P I'd love to see a rough adaptation of some of Brubaker's stuff though - it's a damn pity that he ever left the title!

It's a nice idea but anyone who tries doing something like this is going to have one BIG problem: Fox. They simply won't allow someone to work on one of their properties in a considered and serious manner because the pencil-necks holding the money will interfere from day one and we'd end up with something as awful and crass as the travesty that was Elektra.

I'd love to see a decent Daredevil movie, but until the rights revert back to Marvel, it ain't gonna happen.

" It's been proven the only person that can adapt Frank Miller is Frank Miller."

What about Sin City (Frank Miller didn't really co-direct it), 300 and that episode of Batman the Animated series?

He sounds like a well informed fan but since he's not really a writer or director, just wishful thinking. It would be cool to see another DD movie.

There were some elements to the first film that I liked but not much. Daredevil deserves a really good film and this guy seems like he knows what he is talking about. So I say give him shot. I would love to see Jason Statham as Daredevil every time I see one of his films I can imagine him as the character. I think it would be badass!!

IMO Statham would make a better Bullseye. And Tony Jaa as a member of the hand would blow my mind. Having a hard time thinking of an actor that could fight and act though. Michael C. Hall is out at least for a little bit till he licks the big C.

Look, lets be clear about something. Jason Statham would not make a good anyone..any time..ever. He doesn't even make a good Jason Staham! He can do a round house kick and has a six pack and for some reason everyone fan casts him in things.
