David Slade Tapped To Helm New Daredevil Movie!

According to Variety's Rachel Abrams, 20th Century Fox has tapped 30 Days of Night director David Slade, to helm a "continuation" flick for Marvel's man without fear, Daredevil. Apparently, not being considered a reboot, the report says:

David Slade ("30 Days of Night") is set to direct the next "Daredevil" movie for 20th Century Fox. Slade, who had been in talks to direct Wolverine before losing the gig to Darren Aronofsky, is tasked with taking the film in a different direction from the 2003 "Daredevil" starring Ben Affleck, but is being described as a continuation of the story, not a reboot.

With this news, Fox has evidently succeeded in getting a film in development for old Hornhead, before the character's rights revert back to Marvel Studios.

And regarding who will portray "Matt" Murdock, In July 2008, Jason Statham had expressed interest in appearing as Daredevil in the future. But of course, that's just wishful thinking. So, who do you think could portray Murdock?

Anyhow, Slade’s resume also includes Twlight's Eclipse, aside from 30 Days of Night. And his next project is likely to the Phoenix Pictures’ period horror The Last Voyage of Demeter, which evidently means theres some time ahead before Daredevil returns to theaters.

I was hoping that the rights were back with Marvel Studios, but Fox really seem to be turning over a new leaf between the awesome looking X-Men: First Class and hiring Darren Aronofsky for The Wolverine. I loved 30 Days Of Night. Slad seems like a great choice!

Slade is a great director. He could do a good Daredevil flick, but with Marvel. We'll wait and see with this one.

FRICKIN' FOX! I KNEW they'd pull a douche move like this. Daredevil had 6 months left at FOX studios before the rights reverted back to Marvel. I'm SOOO pissed!

Variety is changing their story to say that it's a continuation, but won't use anything from the first film.

Comingsoon says it's still a reboot, but confirms that Slade's being looked at for the job (not signed yet, though.)

So... I'd wager on a se-boot, like the Incredible Hulk.

I think this is a great choice. hard candy and 30 days of night were awesome. i didn't see the twilight movie he did so i cant judge that, but you can blame any suckage on the source in that instance.

Yeah, they'll probably cram in a FF reboot as well.

Still, I'll give this a chance as I do any movie that has me slightly interested. DD director's cut was decent. Just can't stand Affleck or Gardner. Terrible cast.

Bullseye- "Moar Peanuts" :P

Micheal C. Hall for Matt Murdock is full of awesomeness.

It should be R rated and realistically violent. I loved the montage scene in the 1st film when it shows Matt gulping pain pills, patching his wounds, and sleeping in a sensory deprivation chamber. Nice touches to on otherwise "meh" CBM.

Also, the all black costume with the red scarf tied over the top of his head would be a killer idea for the film's suit. That's a very believable look.

If FOX can make a decent Daredevil movie this time around, then I'm okay with them keeping the rights. In the end, I just want to see a good movie, regardless of which studio owns the character.
