In a surprise move that caught just about everybody off guard, Fox dropped a
teaser for Deadpool 2 (now officially
referred to as "The Untitled Deadpool Sequel").
In typical
Deadpool fashion, the teaser was nothing as we imagined, but everything we could've hoped for. The highlight, of course, being Wade Wilson channeling his inner Bob Ross, painting us happy little trees all the while high as a kite. Of course, the trailer was also filled with all the off-the-wall nonsense and inappropriate jokes we've come to expect from the Merc with a Mouth, with maybe 10 seconds of actual movie footage. But hey - it's freakin' Deadpool impersonating Bob Ross! What's not to love?
Rob Liefeld, who created Marvel's Merc with a Mouth, enjoyed the
Deadpool 2 teaser so much that he actually shared a piece of art inspired by it on his
Instagram. The piece fittingly shows Wade Wilson in his Bob Ross costume, standing in front of a rainbow painting.
In case you haven't seen it yet, you can watch the teaser below. Make sure to watch until the end as it contains a nice little sneak peak at a very exciting character played by Josh Brolin.
After surviving a near fatal bovine attack, a disfigured cafeteria chef (Wade Wilson) struggles to fulfill his dream of becoming Mayberry’s hottest bartender while also learning to cope with his lost sense of taste. Searching to regain his spice for life, as well as a flux capacitor, Wade must battle ninjas, the yakuza, and a pack of sexually aggressive canines, as he journeys around the world to discover the importance of family, friendship, and flavor – finding a new taste for adventure and earning the coveted coffee mug title of World’s Best Lover.
The Untitled Deadpool Sequel is set to hit theaters on June 1, 2018.
