@Relativity - I can believe that. L&T really came across like a movie the director cba to make.
GhostDog

I like this but also wanted the classic wolverine suit for the MCU Logan too. Wonder if that impacts this. I figure it won’t.

@GhostDog - If this is true, my personal preference has always been the brown suit and I would guess that would be the route the MCU decides to go in with its next Wolverine, whereas Jackman gets the blue. Jackman’s earned either of the two at this point.

It’d also just be nice to see Wolverine come full circle after the “yellow spandex” line from the first X-Men.

@GhostDog - I really don't think there will be an MCU Wolverine beyond this
WruceBayne
WruceBayne - 7/6/2023, 4:37 PM
@Slotherin - there’s definitely going to be another MCU Wolverine. We might not see him for another decade but he’ll definitely have his trilogy and be a main focus for the X-men movies too.
CorndogBurglar

@Slotherin - Why would you think that? Short of the MCU completely going under and quitting making movies altogether, there will 100% be an MCU Wolverine.

They certainly won't keep using Jackman as Wolverine forever. He's too old. They need someone that can stick around in the role for at least 15 years or more. We're nit even close to getting the X-Men yet. So it will be a long time before we see the MCU Wolverine. And Jackman is just too old to do it.
Ha1frican

@Slotherin - They aren’t going to just bench one of their most popular characters of all time. Whether it’s Hugh staying on or a multiversal recast Disney is going to mine the shit out of Wolverine in the future lol. He’s nearly Spiderman levels of popular
Fogs
Fogs - 7/6/2023, 6:32 PM
@Slotherin - sure jan.

They spent all that fox money to shelve their most well known team.
GhostDog

@DTor91 - hmmm the brown would be nicr and a cool change of pace
Taonrey

@Ha1frican - definitely now when they don’t have Cap and Ironman, Wolverine is pretty much a guarantee
Slotherin

@Fogs - didn't say the team, but okie dokie
Slotherin

@WruceBayne - that doesn't feel redundant to you? We already got that from Hugh Jackman and now we're getting Hugh Jackman in the MCU.
What is the point of bringing in another Wolverine?
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/7/2023, 11:51 PM
@Ha1frican - using him in this film and possibly Secret Wars is hardly benching him.
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/7/2023, 11:59 PM
@CorndogBurglar - because his story has already been told and they own the distribution of it all.
It's not all about having the rights to recreate the same stuff over.
The multiverse has opened up and they have a plethora to dig from and weave together so for now they're doing that.

Also, X23 was introduced AND well-received in one of said timelines in that plethora that accumulates into the Multiverse Saga.
Fogs
Fogs - 7/8/2023, 4:37 AM
@Slotherin - oh, ok. Just their most well-known member.
Fogs
Fogs - 7/8/2023, 4:38 AM
Seriously though, I believe they're taking a spider-man route, they'll assume people know the character and won't touch the origin. They're also doing that with Daredevil.
CorndogBurglar
CorndogBurglar - 7/8/2023, 7:22 AM
@Slotherin - That doesn't make sense. Wolverine is one of their top 5 most popular characters. What you're saying is like saying they won't make a new X-Men movie, even though we know they are. Or a new Blade movie. Or a new Fantastic 4 movie. But we know they are. The even showed an alternate Reed Richards in MoM. But we know they are making an MCU version of F4.

There's absolutely no chance in the world that the MCU doesn't use Wolverine ever again. It might take a while. Maybe even until after the Multiverse Saga. But they won't just leave one of their most popular characters on the shelf.

@Slotherin - "that doesn't feel redundant to you? We already got that from Hugh Jackman and now we're getting Hugh Jackman in the MCU.
What is the point of bringing in another Wolverine?"

What's the point of bringing back any characters in the MCU? What was the point of bringing Spider-Man into the MCU? What was the point of bringing Hulk into the MCU? Or Daredevil? What's the point of bringing Blade or the Fantastic 4 into the MCU?

We've seen all of these characters in other films or shows that weren't in the MCU. Why would they not do the same thing with one of their most popular characters that is guaranteed to make them money?

They can't just keep using Jackman. He's too old. And you mentioned in another comment that Wolverine's story has been told. While at the same time using the Multiverse as an excuse to not bring a new Wolverine into the MCU. So, I imagine you realize that an MCU Wolverine would not have the same story to tell as the Fox Wolverine. Right? So, no. His story hasn't been told already.

Slotherin

@CorndogBurglar - Hulk and even Spider-Man didn't have 20 years and a dozen appearances with the same actor who they're bringing back.

Spider-Man was on the reboot train with Sony and Hulk was failing to find footing. That's not been the case with things like the X-Men series, Wolverine, Logan....
Slotherin
Slotherin - 7/11/2023, 2:43 AM
@CorndogBurglar - for that matter neither have Blade or Fantastic Four truly had the same exposure and success as Hugh Jackman Wolverine.

Anyway, as I pointed out, they'll get their money with his appearances.

I would argue that the 80’s and 90’s costumes are more iconic, but this version is certainly one of the better ones he has had.

@mountainman - Also, if we do get more Fox X-Men characters in this as rumored, please give us the iconic costumes for all of them as well.
