Deadpool 3 is shaping up to be one of the most exciting Marvel Studios movies ever released, and our first look at Wolverine has only served to increase excitement for the threequel.
All signs point to the Merc with the Mouth and Logan taking a trip through the Multiverse, and we're hearing this will be the movie fans had hoped for with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. A unique blockbuster requires a unique sound, of course, and composer Rob Simonsen has been tapped to take charge of that.
Deadpool 3 director Shawn Levy confirmed Simonsen's involvement with the movie on Twitter, prompting the musician to respond with a series of very fitting Emojis.
He and Levy have a history after Simonsen scored The Spectacular Now and the "Dear Billy" and "The Piggyback" episodes of Stranger Things. He also counts The Whale, Disney+'s Stargirl, Ghostbusters: Afterlife, and the Blake Lively-led The Age of Adaline among his past credits.
Junkie XL composed Deadpool's score, while Tyler Bates worked on Deadpool 2.
Alongside Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman, Deadpool franchise vets Karan Soni (Dopinder), Leslie Uggams (Blind Al), Morena Baccarin (Vanessa), Stefan Kapicic (Colossus), Brianna Hildebrand (Negasonic Teenage Warhead), Shioli Kutsuna (Yukio), and Rob Delaney (Peter) are all also set to return.
Emma Corrin has also signed up as a mystery character, while we also recently learned that Matthew Macfadyen will likely play a TVA agent named Paradox in the movie. It's also been confirmed that Jennifer Garner will reprise her role as Elektra, and Ben Affleck, James Marsden, Patrick Stewart, and Ian McKellen are among the many names rumoured to also be part of the threequel.
Deadpool 3 is set to be released in theaters on May 3, 2024.
