Ryan Reynolds Talks DEADPOOL Easter Eggs; Crossing Over With The X-MEN

Rumor has it that Fox's Deadpool is gearing up to set Comic-Con on fire this weekend. Now, whether that means literally or figuratively is for you to decide... but in the meantime, come check out what star Ryan Reynolds had to say about Deadpool teaming up with Wolverine & the X-Men!

To say 2016 is a big year for comic book movies is almost an understatement isn't it, especially with juggernaut sequels like X-Men: Apocalypse, Captain America: Civil War, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice leading the way.

For the most part, we probably already know what we're going to get with those three, but if there is one CBM that is almost guaranteed to surprise, it has to be the Ryan Reynolds-starrer Deadpool. Over the past year, Reynolds has done an excellent job engaging fans throughout the production process and has more or less taken method acting to another level as many of his engagements were more or less in the guise of Wade Wilson. With the upcoming film currently in post and gearing up to blow away fans at San Diego Comic-Con on Saturday, he recently sat down with Screen Rant to discuss the possibility of crossing over with Fox's popular X-Men franchise or maybe in Hugh Jackman's Wolverine 3. Read his response below:

"That’s a damn good question. You tell me. It would be kind of hard, wouldn’t it? Because you have a character – let’s say you have a character who knows he’s in a comic book movie, that sort of breaks the fourth wall [and] has a tendency to kind of say people’s real names instead of their characters’ names. How do you introduce that into another universe that…does not do that? So…I don’t know. I’d be curious to say. I’m not saying that’s not going to happen. I don’t know if it’s going to happen. I would love to see that.

You have to be very careful about how you do that because you don’t want to do a disservice to any one of these characters that are beloved by everyone."

In a separate interview with MTV, Reynolds took a few minutes to chat about what kinds of Easter Eggs we should expect to see in the Tim Miller-directed film and based on his comments, it sure seems like there will be more than enough to please both casual fans and the hardest of hardcore fans as well. Check him out for yourself in the video below:

Plus, check out this brilliant fan-made poster:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Deadpool features:
Director: Tim Miller
Ryan Reynolds as Wade Wilson/Deadpool
Morena Baccarin as Vanessa Carlysle/Copycat
Ed Skrein as Francis/Ajax
Gina Carano as Angel Dust
T.J. Miller as Weasel
Brianna Hildebrand as Negasonic Teenage Warhead

Deadpool slices his way into theaters February 12, 2016

They should make him the star of every post credits scene starting with Apocalypse.

He works well enough in the comics despite being able to break the fourth wall, no reason he can't show up in the movies.

See, Marvel?

Nobody cares that you aren't showing up to Comic Con.
We're gonna have a good time without you!

If I was Fox, I'd do what Marvel Comics likes doing with Deadpool and have him cameo here and there in their movies.

In Wolverine 3 he should just barge in while Logan's drinking in a bar and give him a speech on how much he'll miss him. Wolverine is confused because 1) he doesn't know this guy, 2) He doesn't know why this guy will miss him, and 3) the guy keeps calling him "Hugh".

I hope they nail it. A classic character in his own right and a much deserves true reboot in the xmen verse. All for more deadpool and men either way.
