ARTEMIS FOWL: The Full Trailer For Disney's YA Adaptation Teases An Exciting Fantasy Adventure

Disney has released the full trailer and a new poster for Artemis Fowl, which was originally supposed to hit theaters last summer before being delayed by almost a full year.

The trailer should give those unfamiliar with Eoin Colfer's series of sci-fi/fantasy a much better idea of what to expect from the movie than the first teaser did, as young genius Artemis Fowl (Ferdia Shaw) sets out to find his missing father (Colin Farrell) with the help of a "giant dwarf" (Josh Gad) and an armored elf (Lara McDonnell).

Check out the trailer below and let us know what you think in the comments.

Descended from a long line of criminal masterminds, 12-year-old genius Artemis Fowl finds himself in a battle of strength and cunning against a powerful, hidden race of fairies who may be behind his father’s disappearance. Newcomer Ferdia Shaw plays the title character, with Lara McDonnell (Love, Rosie) playing Captain Holly Short, a feisty, spirited elf, who is kidnapped by Artemis for a ransom of fairy gold.

Artemis Fowl also stars Judi Dench, Nonso Anozie, Tamara Smart, Miranda Raison, Joshua McGuire, and Hong Chau, and is set for release on May 29.

@Cap1 - Yup exactly what I thought. No evil kid, to anti hero, to hero journey. I always thought Artemis Fowl could have been the next Harry Potter, this looks like Men in Black for kids. Hope it bombs.

Doesn't look great, but nice to hear some genuine Irish accents.

@WakandanQueen - I liked Hong Chau a lot as Lady Trieu, so it's kind of disappointing that this is her first follow-up project lol

This looks like the complete opposite of what the books did. I really liked them as a kid and Artemis was an asshole; real piece of work.

Looks like they Disney-fied him
