Disney and Pixar have released a new trailer for Lightyear that reveals more about the premise of this highly anticipated animated movie. Stranded on an alien planet with his fellow explorers, it seems Buzz just wants to get home, but that's going to be easier said than done...especially after a clash with a giant robot that looks an awful lot like the basis for the villainous Zurg!

Director Angus MacLane previously suggested that Lightyear is the movie Toy Story character Andy saw that made him want a "Buzz Lightyear" toy, which is definitely an intriguing concept.

With this new sneak peek comes a poster and details on the voice cast. Joining Chris Evans as Buzz are Keke Palmer, Dale Soules, and Taika Waititi as a group of ambitious recruits. Peter Sohn voices Buzz’s robot companion, Sox, and the cast also includes the voices of Uzo Aduba, James Brolin, Mary McDonald-Lewis, Efren Ramirez, and Isiah Whitlock Jr.

"The cast for ‘Lightyear’ is truly a dream team," MacLane said in a statement earlier today following the release of this new trailer. "Each of the performers immediately inhabited their character, which gave us the opportunity to play a bit during recording sessions. This resulted in a level of specificity that elevated the material and brought additional depth to the characters’ relationships. It has been a privilege to work with such a talented and generous cast."

The announcements keep coming, though, as we've also learned that Spider-Man: No Way Home and The Batman composer Michael Giacchino will be lending his talents to Lightyear. His previous Pixar credits include Up, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Cars 2, Inside Out, and Coco among others.

Lightyear is set to be released in theaters on June 17.
