First Official Look At Benedict Cumberbatch As DOCTOR STRANGE
We've seen several images from the set of Doctor Strange already, but now thanks to Entertainment Weekly we have our first official glimpse of Sherlock actor Benedict Cumberbatch as the Sorcerer Supreme himself, Steven Strange. Take a look after the jump...
Here's a nice Monday morning surprise. EW has just unveiled their latest cover, and it features Benedict Cumberbatch suited up as Doctor Strange. Though it's very early days (the movie only began shooting a few weeks back), the mag also had a few words with the British actor about taking the role, and all of the spell-casting "gesticulations" that come with it.
“I’m still in the infancy of learning all that. It was like, okay, I’ve got to keep throwing these poses, these spells, these rune-casting things, everything he does physically. I’m thinking, there’s going to be a huge amount of speculation and intrigue over the positioning of that finger as opposed to it being there, or there. And I’m still working on that. We haven’t played any of those scenes yet. I felt really self-conscious. But, then, by the end, it was great. It’s like anything, you just have to experiment.”
Directed by Scott Derrickson, Doctor Strange also stars Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Amy Landecker, Scott Adkins, Michael Stuhlbarg, with Tilda Swinton and Mads Mikklesen. The movie is scheduled to open in theaters on November 4, 2016.
