With Marvel Studios' latest MCU adventure, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, now in its second week on general release, the actors who made surprise appearances (well, some were spoiled in the trailers) have begun to comment on their respective roles in the movie.
We've already heard from Charlize Theron (who debuted in the mid-credits scene as Clea), and Anson Mount has now addressed his cameo as Black Bolt via the following Tweet.
"Finally able to discuss this w/out providing too many spoilers," said the Star Trek: Strange New Worlds actor. "Getting the call from Kevin Feige was one of the most unexpected of my life. It was an honor & joy to finally work w/ Sam Raime who reached out to engage me on how best to do this. Beyond grateful for the experience."
Mount previously played Black Bolt in the short-lived Inhumans TV series, so we imagine it must have been a genuine surprise to be asked to reprise the role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The character met a violent end along with his Illuminati teammates at the hand of The Scarlet Witch (Elizabeth Olsen), but the nature of the Multiverse means it might not have been the last we see of this take on Blackagar Boltagon.
What did you guys make of Black Bolt's role and somewhat unceremonious end in Doctor Strange 2?
