UPDATE: Variety Confirms That Johnny Depp Is In Early Talks To Play DOCTOR STRANGE
For those of you doubting the report from Latino-Review that Johnny Depp was being eyed by Marvel Studios for the role of Dr. Stephen Strange in Doctor Strange, Variety has now confirmed that the Pirates of the Caribbean star is indeed in talks. Check it out!
According to Variety, Johnny Depp is indeed in early discussions with Marvel Studios to play Doctor Strange in their planned solo movie featuring the Stan Lee and Steve Ditko creation. This confirms yesterday's report from Latino-Review, although the trade emphasises that discussions with the actor are early at this point. They also go on to mention that he's still committed to a fifth Pirates of the Caribbean and the Alice in Wonderland sequel, although it was mentioned last night that Disney would be willing to put those on hold to accommodate the star. 2016 stills seems like the likeliest release date for Doctor Strange. What do you guys think about this news?
UPDATE: Or not?
