WandaVision saw Wanda Maximoff transform into the Scarlet Witch, and according to Agatha Harkness, she's now more powerful than the Sorcerer Supreme. With the Darkhold in hand, the Avenger could quite easily be the MCU's strongest superhero...or should that be supervillain?

Talking to Empire Online, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness producer Richie Palmer teased Wanda's evolution. "I don’t know who’s more powerful than Wanda," he said. "Meeting the Wanda Maximoff at the end of Endgame would have been a lot for Strange. Who comes out on top as the most powerful being in the universe? Maybe we find out at the end of the movie."

"Madness has many different definitions," Palmer said of the sequel's title and how that affects both Wanda and Stephen Strange. "It’s maddening for Doctor Strange to have to watch the love of his life marry someone else. And it’s maddening for Wanda to have been told, 'There’s a book, and there’s a chapter about you in that book you should read, and secrets you don’t know about yourself.'"

As for Elizabeth Olsen, she relished the chance to share the screen with Benedict Cumberbatch for more than just a scene or two. "I really was excited to do dialogue with him. I really enjoyed our constant conversation, of analysis and trying to understand where both characters are coming from."

Something tells us we'll see Strange and Wanda do more than just talk in the Doctor Strange sequel. The stage appears to be set for a major battle, anyway, and a new still has also been released showcasing the Scarlet Witch that you can check out in all its glory in the Tweet below.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to be released in theaters on May 6!

Power level discourse is my least favorite discourse.

@BlackBeltJones - ironically, gokus actual power level at that time was 8000 according to the Manga.

@BlackBeltJones - man, the dbz powerlevel arguments are so stupid.

@TheSuperMex - DBZ discourse is a minefield. Especially when arguing dbz characters versus any other super-powered character in fiction. 10 year old me used to get into heated recess arguments about whether Superman Prime One Million could beat a fully powered and angry Broly lol.

@BlackBeltJones - you were 10 so it makes sense. Dudes in their 30s still arguing about is just sad. The DBZ subreddits are bad at this. But I will say Broly could for sure beat Superman Prime One Million easily. Jkjk lol

@TheSuperMex - As a forty-something I can tell you Plastic Man is the most powerful DC has. But since we are talking about the MCU it should have been the Hulk but they toned him way down. Instead in the MCU it's a toss up that evolves through the movies.

A question we have all been pondering about and we will finally get an answer. Thank you God for this gift.

I kinda hate the whole “most powerful” or “smartest” in the mcu thing. Every time a producer has to tell us, it just never feels earned. Even here this guy is like ‘it’s Wanda she’s the most powerful’ then he’s like ‘I guess we will see who the most powerful is in the movie.’ Like you literally just told us.

@DenimChicken - Dr Strange could possibly get a power up or earn his sorcerer Supreme title back within the movie
DenimChicken
DenimChicken - 3/14/2022, 10:04 AM
@MyCoolYoung - I’m down with that. I’m also down with Wanda coming out on top. I just want to watch it happen in the movie and not have someone tell us how it is.

@MyCoolYoung - in fairness, wandavision did state the scarlet witch is supposed to have greater power than the sorcerer supreme.

@Origame - I know. Check my comment under this one. I just know each person gets a power up with each passing movie

@DenimChicken - for sure. I do think wanda will come out on top probably easy and will come to grips with reality again similar to wandavision

Well... Agatha already told us the scarlet witch is stronger than the sorcerer Supreme himself and she also almost solo'd thanos before her power up... so I guess it's anyone's guess who's the strongest avenger is

@MyCoolYoung - Thor Odinson. He took the entire force and heat of a Star, survived floating in space for hours and didn't freeze, and can conjure lighting from his body. While Wanda has chaos magic, her body still suffers the pain and limits to being a human.
MyCoolYoung
MyCoolYoung - 3/14/2022, 5:09 PM
@SonOfAGif - as Stan Lee once said the strongest will always be dependent on who writes them but I agree Thor's durability, lightning, plus stormbreaker puts him up there but shit what would Thor do if she started ripping his body apart like she was Thanos? I guess shoot lighting but who knows
SonOfAGif
SonOfAGif - 3/14/2022, 6:01 PM
@MyCoolYoung - I don't think she could rip his body apart. I mean for starters the only villain who physically damaged Thor was Hela and even doing so he kept getting back up. I honestly don't think Wanda could take on Hela. Especially once Hela knows what a Chaos Magic is. Hela solo'd all of Asgard without breaking a sweat and only Thor could keep up with her. So even if Wanda went berserk on Thor he would summon so much lightning that she would be overwhelmed.

Doctor Strange, Thor, Captain Marvel and Scarlet Witch are all very powerful characters, but I think Peter Quill was the most powerful. Dude has straight up Celestial blood coursing through his veins
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2022, 10:16 AM
@bkmeijer - yeah, but only if he's on ego.

Plus I think ego being a celestial is potentially up in the air since eternals came out and established a lot about celestials.
Whaley87
Whaley87 - 3/14/2022, 10:22 AM
@bkmeijer - *had.

Ego did say that if he died, Peter would be just like everyone else.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/14/2022, 10:22 AM
@Origame @Whaley87 - I always though that was weird. Ego learned to control his powers over time, so Quill could do so too I think. He still has Celestial blood, even if his pa died. I wouldn't just lose my father's genes too if he died.

And even with what is now established with the Celestials, I still think Ego was one. Could be that he just gained consciousness earlier on than other Celestial seeds.
Origame
Origame - 3/14/2022, 10:33 AM
@bkmeijer - I mean, if that were the case then Peter would probably be able to use those powers against Thanos.

But as said by Whaley, ego stated that Peter would be just an ordinary person if ego died.

I compare it to superman. He doesn't lose or gain genes whether he's under a red or yellow sun, but he only has powers because of the yellow sun. Same with Peter but in relation to ego.

If we're talking about ego powered quill, then yeah I'd say he's a contender for most powerful. But that's not the kind of power quill can access anymore.
bkmeijer2
bkmeijer2 - 3/14/2022, 10:46 AM
@Origame - true, and good comparison. Thats also kinda why I said "was" the most powerful, and not "is".

Still think Quill has some power to tap into, since Ego once learned to do so as well.

After No Way Home, I can confirm Strange is certainly the dumbest Avenger.

@McMurdo - I'd say Tony in Iron Man 3 makes some mindbogglingly dumb decisions for someone who's supposed to be one of the smartest people on the planet.
