DOCTOR STRANGE Star Benedict Cumberbatch Wants Bollywood Icon Shah Rukh Khan To Join The MCU

Shah Rukh Khan is unquestionably the biggest movie star in the world and it sounds like Benedict Cumberbatch would like to see him join the greatest cinematic universe of them all: the MCU.

After Logan star Hugh Jackman once said he'd like to see Bollywood legend Shah Rukh Khan play Wolverine in a future film, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness star Benedict Cumberbatch has also revealed himself as a big fan of Khan.

When asked by the Press Trust of India (PTI) about which Indian star he'd like to see join the Marvel Cinematic Universe one day, and later presented with the options of the most popular two actors to play superheroes in a Bollywood film, Khan (Ra.One) or Hrithik Roshan (Krrish), Cumberbatch was quick to reply, “Khan is great.

Cumberbatch, who once stayed in Darjeeling for six months to teach English at a Tibetan monastery, had some very kind words to say about his time in India. "I love your country, I love your culture and cultures. It feels like I was there almost a lifetime ago, in my late teens for six months of teaching, exploring and travelling as well. I'd love to have an excuse to come back and if that's to interact with the first Indian superhero, bring it on."

King Khan in the Multiverse of Madness? Bring it on!

In our review from earlier today, we called the film, "the Marvel Cinematic Universe's darkest and most devastating film yet, boosted by A-list performances from leads Benedict Cumberbatch and Elizabeth Olsen as well as a return to form for legendary Spider-Man director Sam Raimi.

Specific plot details remain mostly under wraps, but in addition to Cumberbatch reprising his role as the Sorcerer Supreme, the supporting cast consists of Elizabeth Olsen as the Scarlet Witch, Benedict Wong as Wong, Rachel McAdams as Christine Palmer, Chiwetel Ejiofor as Baron Mordo, and Xochitl Gomez as America Chavez.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is set to hit theaters on May 6!

mate of mine went to India to make it in Bollywood, he's telling some pretty horrid stories about set-culture there. Trash produced by the production is just left there, poor payment for hands-on workers, massive wealth gap between talent/crew and a rough tone where people that really need the job get fired on the spot or berated by egomaniacs.
No protection through unions or producers taking others under their wing.
Kinda deluded with the industry there,

no matter how bad we have it in Europe and the US, Bollywood seems to be a whole different level of abusive

@Blergh - experience doesn’t always help with most people some people have more experience in retail but if company wants you work weekends you can’t work weekends because family and another job experience will not get you that job

@Blergh - he wanted to be a director of photography on Indian films?

@KingLeonidas - yes-sir. He thought it was a great opportunity and went there, he's grinding and working his way up. Not many jobs in Germany

@Blergh - Hmm interesting. And true. I think India produces 800 films a year. I don't know how many Germany produces. So he should definitely be able to find much more work in India.

@theprophet - It's a weird argument. When someone brings up the score does that mean they accept it as an indicator for quality? Like in this case if he's saying the score indicates a disappointing movie then does he also accept that No Way Home (93%) was a more satisfying movie than The Batman (85%)?

Ha ha just kidding it's just console war nonsense.

Maybe Marvel Studios should give him a call.

@TheHumanSpider2 - from what I can tell he's huge in India. And considering Hugh Jackman and his musical background, it'd make sense for him at least to be aware of a massive belly wood star.

Wasn't there an Indian superhero created by Stan Lee before he passed away? I think you could tweek the character so that Shah Rukh Khan could play him lol.
