Eternals has all the makings of the weirdest Marvel movie to date, but that's not a bad thing this far into the MCU's storied history. Thus far, only a handful of pieces of concept art have been revealed and even that hasn't been shared in high resolution by Disney, so any details we can get are much appreciated.
During a podcast appearance,
Eternals star Kumail Nanjiani talked about what comic book fans can look forward to seeing in the movie, and dropped some surprising details along the way.
"We were sent to Earth thousands of years ago to protect Earth from these monsters, the Deviants, a lot of it takes place in the present day," Nanjiani reveals (h/t

"By this point, we've been on Earth for along time."
After previously making reference to a Bollywood dance number in
Eternals, the
Central Intelligence and
Stuber actor, who plays Kingo in this latest MCU-set adventure, also praised the diversity in Chloé Zhao's film.
"I remember the first time I went to rehearsal I walked in and there were all these South Asian people...I was so moved immediately. I was like, 'Oh my God, we went from none of us [in the Marvel Cinematic Universe] to so many in one scene."
Eternals sounds like one heck of a good time, and this interview appears to confirm past reports that the team of ancient heroes will be sent to Earth rather than being created here by The Celestials.
