With "The Amazing Spider-Man 2" opening this weekend, I wanted to take a moment and go back a few years when Sony announced the reboot. "Percy Jackson" star Logan Lerman was rumored for the part but, as we know, it ended up going to Andrew Garfield.

While Lerman isn't my 1st choice, I believe he's a better fit than Garfield for a high school Peter Parker. Nothing against Garfield the actor but, come on, he's 30.

This fan trailer for "Marvel's The Spectacular Spider-Man" has Lerman in the role. This isn't my ideal cast but for the sake of the trailer...

Logan Lerman as Peter Parker/Spider-Man
Alfred Molina as Otto Octavius/Doc Ock
Alexandra Daddario as Mary Jane Watson
Emma Watson as Gwen Stacy
Catherine Keener as Aunt May
Ezra Miller as Harry Osborne
Denis Leary as Captain Stacy

Can't get the article to embed the video so I'll try leaving it in the comments below.
