Moon Knight has always been a character that fascinates me. A lot like Batman with multiple personality, Moon Knight is the avatar to the Egyptian god Khonshu. He becomes four people in order to exact the vengeance of Khonshu: his own Marc Spector, former mercenary; Jake Lockley, a lowly cab driver for the slums of New York City; Steven Grant, multimillionaire with access to New York's elite; and finally Moon Knight, the wrath of Khonshu personified.
I have a vision of two films so far. I will provide a synopsis of each and how I want each character play out in these films.
So let's crack on with this fan cast!
Moon Knight
Casey Affleck is a tremendous actor who has appeared in a number of amazing films. I think he would be able to do great things with the role of Marc Spector.
Notable Films:
-Ocean's Film Series
-The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford
-Gone Baby Gone
Marlene Alruane
Diane Kruger first came to my attention in the film "Inglourious Basterds". She is fantastic in each movie I've seen her in, and I have no doubt she will be fantastic as Marlene.
Notable Films:
-National Treasure
-Inglourious Basterds
-Unknown
Bushman
Isaach de Bankhole would be great as the fanged, tattooed mercenary! He is fairly unknown, only having appeared in a few films that are well known.
Notable Films/Roles:
-Casino Royale (2006)
-The Diving Bell and the Butterfly
-24: Redemption
Jean-Paul "Frenchie" Duchamp
This may seem like an odd choice, given a few of the roles he has been in before. However, Sacha Baron Cohen has taken a direction into more well-respected films, and he is quite a talented actor.
Notable Films:
-Borat
-Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street
-Hugo
Crossfire
Joshua Jackson stars in the television show, "Fringe". He has a cool, but rough demeanor about him that really screams "Crossfire" to me.
In the comics, William Cross is a CIA agent who turns rogue. I would still like to see him be ex-CIA, but I think he should be part of Bushman's team, and second to Marc Spector. After Marc becomes Moon Knight, Cross takes over as second in command.
Notable Films/Roles:
-The Mighty Ducks film series
-Fringe
-Bobby
Bertrand Crawley
Tom Courtenay was one of the first actors who sprang to mind when I thought of the elegant, regal homeless man that helps out Jake Lockley.
Notable Films:
-The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner
-Doctor Zhivago
-The Dresser
Peter Alruane
John Hurt is a great actor who is phenomenal in everything that he does. He is my first and only choice for the deceased archaeologist.
Notable Films:
-Midnight Express
-The Elephant Man
-Hellboy
-V For Vendetta
Khonshu
With his newest role in "Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows" and his role in my new favorite television show "Mad Men, Jared Harris is quickly becoming a favored actor of mine. He has a great voice that gives both a sinewy and snakey feel to it, while commanding the room in the same way that James Earl Jones does.
Notable Films/Roles:
-Mr. Deeds
-Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows
-Mad Men
***These are the roles I would want for the first film***
SYNOPSIS
After sparing the lives of Dr. Peter Alruane and his daughter Marlene in the tombs of the Egyptian moon god, Khonshu, Marc Spector is left for dead by his superior Raoul Bushman. Dying in the desert, the spirit of Khonshu comes to Marc, offering him a deal: Khonshu will spare his life in exchange for Marc becoming the avatar to Khonshu. Marc accepts and returns home to New York City to exact revenge on Bushman.
Marc decides to take on the identity of three others: the lowly taxi driver Jake Lockley; the rich elitist Steven Grant; and the personification of Khonshu, the vengeful Moon Knight.
Now onto...
MOON KNIGHT II
Werewolf by Night
Barry Pepper is a greatly under appreciated actor, and one of my favorite actors by far. He would add not only a level of depth to the character, but also give it a sense of eeriness.
Notable Films:
-True Grit (2010)
-The Green Mile
-We Were Soldiers
Topaz
Topaz is Jack Russell's sister in the comics, and used as bait by the Committee to lure the Werewolf out of hiding.
Notable Films:
-The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (2011)
-The Social Network
-Youth in Revolt
The Committee
A group of the wealthy who wish to stimulate the economy through unethical methods. At the core is their leader...
Baron Thunder
John Rhys-Davies is a brilliant actor who has been in countless films. He would do great as the leader of the Committee, a cruel, ruthless man who wishes to use the Werewolf for massive destruction.
SYNOPSIS
Picking up right where the first film left off, Marc Spector is hired by the Committee to retrieve Jack Russell from overseas. Upon meeting Jack Russell, Marc realizes he is a werewolf and that the Committee wants to use him to for their own purposes.
Well that's all, thanks for playing along! I hope you liked it! Sound off down below!
