I felt the need to post this because this trailer looks pretty darn good for someone who is a fan, just wanted to make a Batman movie in college, and had no budget.
The official title of the movie is Batman: Day the Clown Cried. I was able to chat with the director, Collin Peters and discuss the reason being for making. Peters addressed that he just wanted to make a Batman film in life, he grew up a fan and wanted to something spectacular in college and thought why not a Batman movie. He goes on to joke about how his friend playing Batman also looks a bit like Christian Bale too.
When I asked how he came up with the story he said "It went through a couple different phases. First we thought, well they're never gonna have another Heath Ledger joker in another Batman movie so lets do that on our own. Then too many were doing that so I decided not too, plus an expectation would be EXTREMELY high. Then I just thought about and wanted to make a movie the Animated Series inspiration but a Joker story along with Batman. So I thought about adapting the Killing Joke since its a GREAT story and can convert it into something movie wise that wouldn't be page for page, so its different, but keep some images looking like it came straight out of the comic book, that's what I would like to see anyway."
Peters goes on about how he incorporated Harley Quinn and Barbra Gordon in the original script, but due to lack of crew and actors commitments he couldn't have the original intention. He says the movie is almost done, just needs some sound and music touches but if anyone is interested they can go the facebook page Batman: Day the Clown Cried and check images and the trailer or Youtube for the trailer.
