Odin vs DarkseidAny comic book fans familiar with these two characters know just how truly powerful they really are......capable of performing feats that put them on the high end of their respective universes. But if it came down to these universe shakers throwing down in an epic fight, who do you think would emerge victorious? How would the OdinForce fare against a Omega Effect and vice versa? Who wins?
Odin is the son of Bor, the first Asgardian, and the frost giantess Bestella. Bor and Bestella also had two other sons known as Vili and Ve. These were Odin's older brothers. Odin and his two brothers had many adventures in their youth, and as young adults they encountered and banished from Asgard the evil fire-demon who ruled Muspelheim called Surtur. After Surtur was defeated, Bor abdicated his throne to Odin, making Odin the new ruler of Asgard.
Real Name: Odin Borson
Height: 6' 9"
Weight: 650 lbs.
Eyes: Blue
Hair: White
Powers and Abilities:
As King of the Norse Gods, Odin possesses vast strength, durability far greater than a normal Asgardian, along with resistance to all Earthly diseases and toxins, some resistance to magic, and courtesy of the Golden Apples of Idunn, a greatly extended lifespan. Odin has all the abilities of his son Thor, but to a much greater degree. Odin is capable of manipulating the Odin Force - a powerful source of energy - for a number of purposes, including energy projection; creation of illusions and force fields; levitation; molecular manipulation, communicating telepathically with other Asgardians even if they be on Earth and he in Asgard, hypnotizing humans; channeling lightning to Earth from Asgard, controlling the lifeforces of all Asgardians, and teleportation. The character has also used the Odinpower for greater feats such as transporting the entire human race to an alternate dimension; stopping time; pulling remains of distant planets towards Earth, compressing the population of an entire planet into a single being, the Mangog and then recreating the race and taking a soul away from the arch-demon Mephisto. The Odinforce extends Odin's power to a galactic level.
In battles against opponents of similar power, Odin carries the magical spear Gungnir ("The Spear of Heaven"), an artifact made of the metal uru, that can be used to channel the Odin Force. Even without the Odinforce it can still match Thor's hammer in battle. Once a year, during the Asgardian winter, Odin must undertake the Odinsleep for 24 hours to regenerate (and is closely guarded as he is vulnerable during this period), although he can be wakened by potent spells, such as those of Karnilla the Norn Queen.
Odin is also a master tactician and schemer, and has prevented Ragnarok, and planned for centuries for the coming of the Celestial Fourth Host. The character also on occasion uses the eight-legged steed Sleipnirthe and the enchanted ship Skipbladnir, which can navigate the "sea of space" and be shrunk to the size of a toy.
The son of Yuga Khan and Queen Heggra, Prince Uxas, second in line to the throne of Apokolips, plotted to seize power over the planet. When his brother, Drax, attempted to claim the fabled Omega Force, Uxas murdered him and took the power for himself; transforming him into a rock-like creature, and taking a new name: Darkseid.
Real Name: Uxas
Height: 8' 9"
Weight: 1,815 lbs.
Eyes: Red
Hair: None
Powers and Abilities:
Darkseid is among the most powerful New Gods. His main power, the Omega Beam, is a form of energy that he fires from his eyes as either a concussive force or disintegrating energy, capable of transmuting or erasing living objects and organisms from existence as well as resurrecting them, depending on the dark lord's will. Darkseid has pinpoint control and his unerring aim allows the beam to travel in straight lines, bend, or curve around corners and can pass through matter and energy. He can teleport himself or others through time and space. Darkseid can also shoot energy blasts from his hands. His Omega Sanction traps the organism in a series of alternate realities, each one worse than the previous.
Darkseid is a being whose unparalleled strength and invulnerability can only be challenged by that of Superman, Doomsday, and Orion. He can also move with great speed, as he has been able to catch Superman off guard, he is known to be able to react in nanoseconds. He also can increase his size. Darkseid has the powers of telepathy and telekinesis and can create psionic avatars. Since Darkseid is considered a "god" he is virtually immortal, having lived for several hundred thousand years. Like all New Gods, however, he is vulnerable to a substance called "Radion".
Despite his extraordinary physical power, Darkseid rarely engages himself personally in confrontations, as he prefers to use his superhuman intellect and genius to manipulate or control others to his ends. Darkseid has displayed his godly abilities by sensing the death of his son Orion and fluctuations of the energy of the "Godwave". Darkseid commands all the military and technological resources of Apokolips.
